I am against any kind of ks preventative in this game. We have free will and it should stay that way. The game will suffer greatly if changed. You will miss the free for all boss fights. I miss the one hour timer on Falgren when big rival clans waited for him to pop up and see who was the victor.

There isn't much to do at high levels, and win or lose its fun to compete. I realize most people come to the forums to complain, but if big changes are made then we should be allowed to transfer to new pvp servers.

1-4 stars first hit gets, but 5-6 stars should be FFA.

I remember when we used to talk about this on Beta forums. I like the ideal that the target lock on 1-4 stars is for Exp mob's. To prevent KS'ing when people level up. But 5-6 Star mob's, as you say aren't about Exp, they are about drops.

It fully makes sense then for they to be FFA.

I fully +1 this distinction.

Hey I am interested to see how this will work out, if there are two clans competing for a boss there is a chance that it could still create some interesting dynamics - for example if you really want the kill you will be tempted to start the fight early and hope to stay alive until reinforcements arrive, which may make some exciting fights - if you wipe you will lose the lock.

What needs to be resolved is a nice balanced group of players has formed, and have been fighting a boss for 15 minutes, and then suddenly a high level runs past and ks them. I personally like the competition aspect as in the top example, but a blatant ks by one player against a group is very different from competition, and is the thing that needs to be addressed, it will only get worse as players get higher levels and the older become easier for them.

The lock is a big change to the game code and working on this means we have to skip some major game features that were planned for the next update, so we are not doing this lightly.

Um if the lock is going to make us pass up alot of content and such, I say just push the target lock back for U4 or something.

Let me try this one more time. Is ksing really the problem? Or is ksing a result of an other problem(s)?? I can give some examples just to let you think about my point. ( I am not saying this all is true):
- Is the problem maybe higher lvls have nothing better to do?
- Or is it to easy for dps classes to ks because they have potions amd idols?
- Or is it to hard to get drops so high lvls need to kill it still at higher lvl or need to help friends or clan.
- Is the spawn time on bosses too slow?
- are there too less bosses that drop that special item (drag)

You see lots to think about, before you should think about implementing a target lock. The example you give will be the example how high lvls will still get the boss kill ( much easier for a high lvl to stay a live against a lower lvl boss) and if you say tis target lock will other patches delay, maybe higher lvls have even less to do?

Again just something to think about, I am saying this because some people are always seeing everything immidiatly as a threat...

If this is added everyone will just make tanks and camp out every boss need to increase the spwan times to a hour max people don't hve all day to camp a boss then take 45 mins attacking to find out a ranger hit first... One ranger hit first so there for rangers are now ultimate ksers.... Can just hide watch a group form up let off and arrow then stay hidden and what happens some one who hit the boss once locks it in and wins the pot! STUPID IMO but go cares what we think all about the money right OTm that's fine but remeber this.... Every time u change something like this game sucks for everyone.... Everyone. Any way don't break what isn't broken. The fact that peopl still kill lower bosses can be because three high level clans on one server mean a constant zero ow bosses means no clan progress so why not kill bone head stonefang ironspike why not help lower clannies get to where you are gear wise. I ask u to think actually use a brain before you add this lock system. Think about both sides of the fence not just the lower levels! Focus in high levels for a month or so and watch ur complain rate drop by 45%. No one over 100 wants anything more than faster boss spawns simple. If nothing drops fine bbiah but as it stands four more hours till I get another cracked gem or a pristine boar hide(from doomclaw lol) any way the point is ksing isn't really that bad. The system set up for spawns and drops is why people tend to be frustrated. I personally have had three crest for over 5 weeks why because of the drops and the long spawn delays. This is the main problem not people ksing. They ks only because you may see 1 crest a day from a certain boss and everyone wants these items so I ask you to use your brains think about it what is truly a problem......

Someone mentioned that quest drops should only go to people with an open quest. I support that idea very much. I mean, high lvls could make an alt to farm frags, but it would still be more difficult for them to do that then now.

And the main reason why bosses get KSed is greed and malice...
