Mounts = Novelty?

I'm just wondering if the Mounts in a future update will really be tied to Novelty ability. I understand that current "novelty" items like brooms, sleds, and carpets are all "mount" type items.

Honestly, I like to see new Mounts have a separate "Mount" ability tied to them. Something new for people to work on when living mounts are added.

As for "novelty" items, I'd like to see them steared back into the realm of novel weapons like handheld Snowball Cannons, Whips, Slingshots, Flamethrowers, etc. Forget that Flamethrowers are not "Celtic." Neither are Flying Carpets or Sleds. I don't think novelty items should be tied to Celtic-lore, but I do think they should be limited to inanimate items, not living mounts.

Just my thoughts. What do you guys think?

Personally i think mounts should be configured like other abilities. What i mean is instead of someone going and buying a 80% say carpet. That everything be set at 5% and the more u travel the further u travel the faster it becomes. Yeah i know sounds kinda dumb but make it where everybody has a chance. Say the brooms come back, make it to where if u buy one say at 30k they all are at blank speed and u have the option to train your speed. Just saying we be cool i might actually invest in a mount.

Never ever add flamethrowers to the game it will ruin the game entirely, If you want a flame thrower just play mage -.-
For the other ideas i think they r ok. But I dont think the proper mounts would ever have a novelty ability cause they wouldnt have attacks :S Remember the real mounts will be like horses to start its not going to be anything like event novelty mounts.

The increased speed lvl after travelling further is an awesome idea!

I was just rereading my post and for those who will have something negative to say. I dont think the previous mounts should be affected by this. Just the up and coming mounts, i think it would be awesome. And people will start buying a but load of abilities elixers to get say new horse mount to 80% speed lol. So in turn it is money coming into the game in a sense.

I would love mounts to be an entirely customizable pet not a weapon.

their own screens with armors, accessories, and weapons. (Like special horn helmets, sadlles...)

Important, when a player is riding a mount the fight animation should be linked to his own equipment, for example if the player is equiped with a spear, he will throw a spear from the back of his mount, if a sword, then he would fight with a sword. That is perfectly logic.

if you just reduce a mount as a simple broom or carpet... So just as a special weapon... This will be just lame.

The damage done must be a special combinaison of the damage done both by the player and his mount. Prices of mount should be very high with high level recquirement, noob should be impatient to level until they can reach a title of knight of lugh for example, and allowed to ride a mount by the king. We don't want all players to ride mounts !

the mounts abilities should be hard to level (like fortitude but also speed....) and their equipment also expensive or hard to get through crafting.

There should be a special mount luxury shop. It should also bring a lot of revenu for OTM, we could also imagine special wisdom abilities for the mounts.

Maybe why not mounts also leveling. When a player equip a mount, some part of his xp will go to his mount, that would change with time.

And why not?^^ well i mean it could be cool and new to fight mounted:) what i mean is that some build like spear for rogues, or for rangers arent very good, and many weapons for warrior also:) and mage and druid might love to have regen or energy or hp bonus while fighting:) i understand that seeing a rogue...with knives...fighting on a horse is stranger but allowing rogues with spear to fight mounted, same for ranger etc...would change our way of seeing these weapon:) (i m saying that in case if mount are increasing some stats:) like dmg or armor or vit etc...:) just saying:) )

I also always wondered why u cant hold a sword/hammer/icon/axe/staff/dagger/ofhand anything while on a carpet
Since u STAND on a carpet with ur FEET and not with ur HANDS means that u can wear a WEAPON in ur HANDS
