Rogues Stink... (Class Change)

Ok my views on this topic has changed entirely thinking about it. I did compare this to slavery and my bad on doing so. It's quite low but I did this at 3 in the morning after spending the night on homework that I couldn't do earlier because of work. If there was a undo button I'd probably undo this entire post because thinking about it makes me laugh how stupid I was acting! Don't judge me on a post that was done after people were mocking me basically and I just wasent really thinking when I wrote this. After reading some posts and thinking about it i think Rogues are a great class and as for the DPS thing we do have the fastest weapons as well as a skill called Quick Attack. I can pump out about 500 damage every 3 hits which is not half bad considering my 3 attacks happen within 5 seconds. As for the duel weild it's not just us who it's exclusive to. In the Update all classes will have the ability to use a Offhand that does extra damage if your willing to pay upwards of 60k+. So for all you thinking how low I am and thinking how Beta testers are picked you have to realize I'm not like this all the time! This is a one time thing and I have no intentions to do it again. If your able to forgive me great, if not oh well there's nothing more I can say to change your view on who I am in this game. I'm sorry.

I thought Rogues were going to get added damage for sneaky in the update. This didn't happen? What about Druids? Is lightning still interruptible and lame?

Anyway, class changing books sound OK as long as ability levels start from 0 after the change.

Hey Dayton

I was actually teasing you about the rogue class! :lol:

However please feel free to post what you would like changed, and what skills/abilities/items you would like in the future so we know what to add.

Sneaky attack now goes up to skill level 15 at which point it is the most damaging skill in the game and it has also been made instant cast time, I've asked for the damage double checked.

Vapor, Druids lightning now recharges much faster and is not interrupted.

Yes Dayton, I was teasing as well. I do not seriously think that rogues should become beggars/panhandlers/tinkers or any such thing! Nor was I suggesting that you were a beggar of any kind... We were just giving you the gears is all! Sorry if these comments rubbed you the wrong way, but they weren't meant to be serious - sarcasm/humour is difficult to convey in game chat!

What is your cunning ability level? Could this be your problem? We have all been able to level more quickly in beta, but the abilities don't rise at the same rate, you have to use those skills a lot to get them up... Also, what is your strength?

Beyond that, I don't know what to say since rogues are the only class I haven't played at all with warriors being a close second... I will point out that it seems as though rogues are not meant to have the highest hits in this game, but with decent hits and fast attack speed they should be ranked first in DPS (I could be wrong though...)

As for my firebolt, yes I was using lure with it, as well as lure of ice with shards (I use lure more than I have to actually just to ensure that it is activated on my enemies) and both skills do roughly the same damage for me at the moment (Firebolt is often more effective but that is because my fire ability is 600+ while my Ice magic is only 227...)

I hope they can tweak a few things to make it better for you, but if they can't for this update hopefully they can patch improvements in over time before the next major update...

Dayton,

What's your dagger/spear skill? I hear rogues, and other classes, whine a lot that my giant swing does 200-300 and they only do XYZ and they don't take into account my char is 20 levels higher and has almost 600 melee (the equiv of dagger skills) and my wep hits so much slower so should do more per hit anyhow. If you have a low dagger skill, or if you're using a spear with low skill, you need to expect the damage to be low until you raise that wep skill. Usually when this same topic comes up it's due to low weapon skills. - Not saying it's the case, just saying it's likely.
My warrior's damage doesn't scale with level nearly like I expected. Better gear and 25 levels and my damage still dishes out at the same, granted mobs are higher level too but I kinda expected more damage output, or at least better damage taking on the warrior class too.

I doubt it if this could be implemented before this update is released, but what if, every time a player levels up, damage/attack/defence/armour/health/focus went up by a small flat rate (1-5 points) in addition to the increases afforded by dropping your 5 ability points wherever you wish? That might scale up the damage dealt by higher level chars the way you would like Nasim...

I don't Play a rogue in beta yet, but I think alle classes are equal atm in the old version.
When you make some changes it will Be ok, but please dont make rogues oberpowerd again.
Rogues have Very strong skills like poison weapon ( which is 5x better then frenzy )

Hmm well then I guess il change my mind on some stuff... Well then as for the ability thing on my actual guy I have 580 Cunning and 580 Dagger ability and I do about 350 on Black guards... Considering I have to either use hide or attack around a corner to use this I fine that makes in less useful then a Giant Swing that can be done during combat and hits about 300 with a Giant Mall. While that does 54 damage on the weapon and my langsax does 21 that's probably why the numbers are off and should be tested with maybe full Ancient Armor and the weapon as well with the full ability maxed. Even so I'm still gonna die because of the damage I've done but that's something I can get use to.

What do you mean? If you think are referring to 'damage done' by posting your thoughts, I wouldn't loose any sleep over it - the devs listen to and appreciate your feedback!

I don't think the Rouge should be the one having the best attack. It should either be the Mage or Warrior. Obviously it wouldn't be the Druid,the rouge should have a good skill, but not the best. It's bad enough that they can already walk by th mobs withought being attacked AND their skills are instant. Why give them another advantage? Mages have, well obviously magic, which should be far stronger than any of the skills. At least the rouge can dual wield some very power full weapons, all we get is stupid wands the WEAKEST weapons in the entire game you should at least give us the best skills. We have lame defense,and lame attack (with wands) therefor we deserve the strongest skill Which I think should be fireball because ice of shards is a joke. It takes forever to cast, forever to reload AND to top it off it's interruptible. Before the update rogues had the best skill, it was instant, and reloaded quickly, I don't see how this is fair.
