broom damage not changing much with strength

Are the new brooms' attack power affected by strength or something else. I am a druid and had str at 5 and was averaging ~115dmg/attack on the training dummies in castle. I bought a rebirth book and put str to 169 from 5 and my damage is only slightly higher ~121dmg/attack. The average time it takes me to kill a training dummy has gone down by 1 second.
My totem damage has gone up more noticeably. Is the reason the gain is less significant with broom versus totem because the majority of the damage is magic based rather than physical. Can you look into this?
My novelty ability is 1166
My totem ability is 1298.
I do not feel good about my stats change, and will likely go back to 5 str and continue to avoid attacking with novelty.
Which brings me to another issue. I am sure I am by now annoying you Admin, because I have a thread on t he topic in Feedback as well, but if time allows, a caster oriented broom at the various price points would be wonderful, maybe the broom does not have the physical damage but instead adds to focus.
Thanks

I don't know what the damage types are on the brooms, but ate only affects the 3 base damages: piercing, blunt, slashing. Any magic, cold, heat, etc. is just a static amount of damage.

Then that is the limiting factor to raising broom damage. I guess that was intentional? Because the 1 million broom has the following stats:
Physical damage (depending on broom type) - 25
Elemental damage (depending on broom type) - 50
Where as the glacial totem is 60 crush.

Yeah, your strength is only multiplying the 25 damage. So instead of (I don't remember formula do this is just an example) strength*75 total damage, it's strength*25 +50 for elemental damage.

I guess one reason to design the brooms this way is because strength is the modifier and they want to be fair to all classes. If the based physical damage of brooms and other novelties was high, strength-based classes would get a lot more use out of them. This is why I argue for caster novelty items that modify spell damage/strength by amounts that justify the investment in novelty.

Yeah they definitely designed them to be just that, novelty. Not built for power, built for looks and move speed. Also, since you're on, are the worlds down, or is something wrong with my end?

Thank you for the discussion Hippo. I definitely do not think it fair to raise the base physical damage then so I will not ask for that. I guess I have wanted the expensive novelties to be good for more than just transportation, partly because of the cost difference between something like the mil broom and an offhand grimoire/diamond wand/totem, and partly because of the inconvenience on shorter distance of switching between novelty and main hand offhand in the inventory.

So you got caster friendly armour and now you want caster friendly brooms? Greedy little druids
