Fantasize Crafting Here :D

I am well aware that crafting will not be out for a while and probably wont be anything like I'm about to share. This thread is about having some fun with our imaginations and to fantasize the future ability to craft. Just post you brainstorms, and I do mean brainSTORMS.

Here are some of my ideas...

Quality: The crafted armor can vary in stats, depending on the quality of some material. An example would be the use of golem gems. Cracked gems won't provide as great of a bonus as say a dull gem. Pristine material provides the same quality as enchanted but enchanted provides a bonus of some sort. Of course different materials have different bonuses.

Use of Stones: Crafted armor can gain set bonuses from different stones. A 'jet' stone can provide an armor bonus of 10 while a peridot can provide a armor bonus of 15. Glow hearts can provide a resistance to an element of the same type (red provides fire resistance) while only being able to be crafted into breastplates. Shards however can be crafted into either armor or weapons, providing a set bonus damage. A moonstone could maybe add some energy regen.


With the current items in the game, I have already come up with some cool (in my opinion) armor pieces...

Breastplate of Wyvern Slaying:
Made up of leather and chains (noob drops) as well as enchanted wyvern scales. It also harnesses the power of a red glowheart for extra fire resistance.

Armor: 160
Fire Resist: 150
Weight: does anyone actually pay attention to this?
Energy Regen: 5

Gauntlets of Brawling:
Made with scrap chains, iron ingots, and a diamond

Armor: 20
Weight: ?
Haste Bonus: 10%
H2H ability +150

Evasive Dagger of poison (offhand):
Made with leather, an ingot of some sort, a stone of some sort (for evasion), and a green glow shard

Pierce damage: 5
Poison damage: 25
Defense: 50
Evasion to all skills + 75

I could care less about the stats for armor and all but I would love it if it was like GW2 and gave you XP enough that you can lvl up by just crafting....to give us something else to be able to do other then kill mobs to lvl and encourage crafting :)

Love ur idea blaze and also the higher ur enchanting lvl the stronger the gear. As for this ability lvling ur character i would hate this since u can have a player just enchanting to lvl. I hope this skill is like other abilities the higher lvl u are the higher ur enchanting is it would keep it a balance and not let noobs get amazing gear at a low lvl.

Love the idea blaze, but can you imagine how many high levels would just destroy all the wisps in SV, and kill all the crookback/connacht mobs in search of shards. What about the place holders, think about them for a sec. Their life span would go done by so much. Poor peons, and runts, and peasants. :lol:

I think the drops like enchanted and prismatic should add a damage or health/focus boost due to the respective item.

Enchanted adds + 25 damage to any weapon (and maybe 25 spell damage for wands)
While for armour, I think that should depend on classes, no use having a mage/druid running around with a worthless VIT boost.
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.

loving the idea so far. Not keen on getting xp from crafting though. I would like to see the option to enchant all armour and weapons even after they have been crafted. Perhaps by combining a diamond with frozen dagger you could change the 1900 speed to 1800 and the name would then become frozen dagger (I). As your crafting ability gets higher, you could enchant items more times. With 1500 ability you could enchant an item 3 times. some ideas for enchantments include:

speed bonuses
dmg bonuses
color changes
small regen

I was thinking energy regen, thus the 5 regen on the breastplate made with enchanted scales. But that would be cool too. Also, an enchanted scale from a swamp horse thing could possibly have a didferent effect than that of an enchanted branch.

Maybe crafting would be an awsome way to mix class gear. A vitality boost could satisfy some mages. I mean if you don't want it, don't craft it; instead, craft the same thing with a different boost. Basically making it custom.

I'm hoping that crafting has it's own levelling system so you have to level up crafting to craft better items and can do it ALL solo.. It will give people a nice, peaceful escape from killing and when your Player level hits the soft level cap, you will then have something to do rather than being bored :)
