Fluctuating damage

Before you start considering me a whining mage, im not.

This is just a post concerning the fluctuating damage for classes. For those who dont know, fluctuate is the rise and fall irregularly in number, or amount.

Mages have horrible dps at some times, and amazing at others. I can hit a 1.2k fireball in a wyvern lord, then a 400 the next fireball. Do other classes also have this? And in huge amounts like mine?

The exact reason why I use auto for melee classes.
I do believe there was a post on this awhile ago but it was removed at the server change?
Could someone post a link to the post I'm talking about?

I noticed the same thing with giant swing on warriors, not so much pummel, but with giant swing sometimes you would hit a 150, then hit a 80 the next time. Also archers barbed shot sometimes will hit around 100, then the next time you cast it, the initial damage will only be around 8-9.

Even on gladiator when he have no resist fire sometimes i hit 600 -.-

That other one was a whiney mage post :p

It's not just skills but auto damage as well that fluctuates greatly , it happens to all classes all the time .

It's a pain in the arse honestly but at least it happens to everyone (all levels and classes) making it a fair playing field.

Assassinate hits 700-2000 for me on redbosses. Thats a huge difference.
This skills stats say it hits about 2800 however i have royal and fabled rings which i sometimes wear for these attacks but that only makes it 1100-2400 about.

200-500 has a flux greater than the minimum hit - DAFUQ? :lol:

No but really, it's so stupid. What sets shards apart from firebolt? A chance to hit higher for the garenteed price of more energy, cast time, and cooldown. Is ice shards underpowered? No, hits are just not constant enough!

AOE skills seem to have the greatest flux. 400-1300 and 200-1500 are from firestorm and sweeping blow. I have seen it many times ad just dropped those two skills. They are completely useless. Auto attacks are not too bad if you're using fast weapons but when you're using a 7k speed hammer, it sure sucks to hit low especially with a lure up.

Also notice it with rogue skills, although I don't notice it so much when there is an Assassin lure up. Seems a lot more blows hit around the same.
