What is the difference between these two stats, do they both do the same thing and just lower the enemy damage? Also apart from the helm of the sage, how does my defence stat increase? Does it just get higher every time I level up. Thanks ..... Anya/rattlebones

i believe defense only applies to your ability to dodge. armor provides damage reduction. if things do hit you, your armor soaks up some of the damage.

Defence is your chance to avoid being hit - currently this is 100% down to your dex, however some skill effects and items may give a boost to this

Armour reduces how much damage you take when you are hit - this is down to the armour you wear and bonuses from skill effects and items.
