So Im a 151 mage with over 1100 focus. I have Ice Attune maxed, lure of ice maxed, and ice blast maxed.

Based off spell descriptions alone I should be ice blasting for 7700. I am barely touching 7600.
A clan member with same level and gear is doing well over 9k damage. The only difference between us is she has 1500 ice magic and I have 1100 (fast leveling).

Now assuming that my missing 400 ice magic is responsible for my missing 2000 damage, Adding ice magic gear should make some kind of difference right ?? Well I put in a royal ring of snow (150 ice magic) and tried again. Still peaking below the spell description. Its like my attune isnt even working.

Can anyone explain ?

Ability does play a huge role in damage.

It should. I know if i went up 150 spear ability my aggy trident would do about 20-25 more points of damage. Not to mention attack goes up too

LMAO , poor mages have it rough this update huh

That's only about 5 sharpshots at 50/35 with 600+ dex and over max ability .

my ice lure is 35/35 ... the onl difference between myself and other mage is 400 ice magic.

that being the sole cause of a missing 2000 damage does not smell right to me.

Up to 1180 now and still no noticeble difference in damage from 1040. I find it hard to believe that another 300 ice magic ability is gonna make my ice blast shell out another 2k damage....what is going on ? should i make a ticket ?

Skill up to cap and then compare gear to whoever is beating you , she may have bonuses you don't or wear a ring you don't.
