What's the point of pvp? The game?

#1
I am most sure that this has already been addressed, but I am just wondering what is the point to do pvp anymore? Every single skill that has any use, has been cut down by 50% or lower, truthfully around 38%. And almost all auto attacks are down, but that's just because of warrior's insane armor lol. My point is, why are we bothering to pvp, or that there is even a pvp at all if we can't show our true colors and our complete strength? Isn't that what pvp is all about? To show what you got?

I'm just really confused why all this is happening to a simple system that almost every game has integrated successfully. Honestly, I just see this game, not at all introducing difficulty at all to the game, just length. Things are just as easy, but more health, or just the same, but lower hits. My question to that would be why? Why are you just making things longer rather than give it a whole new twist, maybe really short health, but lots of armor, or lots of damage?? When will this game get any uniqueness?

I got a lot of questions to be honest and I'm sure you all do too, but I'd really like it if I could get an answer to any of these.

The fun begins for mages...(sarcasm)

With skill atk halved, mages are completely utterly screwed (unless they half auto atk as well, which they didn't).

pvp is suppose to be short, decided in seconds usually, players are SUPPOSE to destroy each other WITHIN SECONDS.

I totally didn't get the half skill policy, druids are suppose to be healing like hell due to their lack of offense, rogues and mages are suppose to be dishing out hell b/c they are suppose to have massive burst dps (mage only have burst dps with skills, hence the "fun" begins when skill dmg are halved), warrior are suppose to be tough, but with the halved skill dmg they are way too op, rangers, Bolas should be nerfed b/c 30 sec is obviously too long but 6 secs is way too short (I think it should be 12-15 sec duration in pvp).

+1 that skill dmg shouldn't be halved, but some really ridiculously high dmg skills should be nerfed, but not halve (20-30%?).

Once they finally listen to the players on how to even out the classes in pvp instead of just pulling a number out of thin air (we all know what deep dark hole they really pull it out of but im useing forum friendly terms) they need to implement some sort of tounement where pvp serves a purpose other than something to do while not grinding. A weekly arena event would be awsome. Times for matches could be drawn according to timezones and then narrowed down to within 3 me zones for the brackets and also by a minimum number of entrants and level. Prizes could range from gold or plat to discontinued items. Would be fun and really make pvp worthwhile.

Turning this question slightly on its head, but what do you think should be the point of PvP?
It should just be games like capture the flag or stuff some one on one but these should earn points that u can purchase gear that is only available through these points the gear should be decent to great but not better then quest gear but a good second option over vendor.

Pvp is player vs player. The option is added but since the classes are so different and you can't easily change attributes it's impossible to meet the requirements to beat the opponent in most cases.

In pvp classes need to be balanced but it's pretty imposible. I once suggested A pvp mode where you get 5 skills which are balanced. Health are boosted or taken down so that a lvl 150 can still have a fair fight with a lvl 10. (It was a boxing idea)

Pvp should be more about skill than Leveling. And each class should be able to tank/dps/heal

I think the point of PvP should be two fold.

1. It should be a means for players to fight one another to simply see who is best (as others have stated, it probably needs to be balanced a little more).
2. It should be a means for players to gloat or be rewarded. Every aspect of a game needs a purpose, currently their is none other than a title. The way the system is set up, the title is often overlooked because it can only be viewed when you inspect another player. You can reward players in a number of ways. You can allow the titles to be displayed overhead, much like clans (in addition or replacement). You can reward players with useful items, such as armor or weapons. Or you can reward players with unique fashion items that show the players prowess in the arena, such as a crown, emblem, you name it.

The current system is very unrewarding and lacks purpose. If you implemented my second point, I think that would give merit to this feature.

not sure this would work.... *the awkward moment when a lvl 150 is taken down by a lvl 1*
