To install the new backup system, there was scheduled downtime yesterday. However, the new back up system has resulted in unscheduled downtime today. So, if it aint broken, dont fix it.

It was broken though. I experienced some glitches such as appearing in a different spot after logging. A friend lost his heroic amulet after logging out and back in. When he had logged a few times it was back...

So yeah, there were some issues.

EDIT: Oh, and I guess its bc of the scamming issue...

That's our point... Before Tuesday the game wasn't broken... They got software to "Fix" something that wasn't broken, by "fixing" unbroken software they broke it... Hence the missing items, gained gold and etc...

Hi there, I agree that there is always a risk when changing things that something will break.

However the long term benefits of an offsite, more frequent and more robust backup system is worth the risk in the long term.

We are striving to keep improving all aspects of the game and we will mess things up from time to time unfortunately - the other option is to not do any improvements which isn't good either.

Thanks a lot for your patience I am very sorry about the downtime, I think players deserve to get some compensation for this so I will be working on that as well once the work is done.

Why do you keep saying sorry Admin? It worries me that you've really messed something up... It's bad enough that you won't even PM me back...

He's apologizing for the inconveniance of all the servers being down right now. Players get frustrated because the patch always takes longer than they think. Myself included. Earlier he might have been apologizing for the outrage that the tuesday patch caused. They are fixing that now.

Soooo I just stayed up 3 and a half hours for no reason lol so much for hopeful thinking :/
