Mordris practice run (Taranis)

#1
Pride and ThePillars joined forces to play with Mordris to test things out for next kill. This was not an attempt to slay it, simply to devise strategies. I decided to post it here to share some info that may help and encourage other servers. Please post your results when you attempt it, would love to see how far you can get.

DPS lvl 180+ (from memory):

6 Mages (5 Lvl 190+ and full DL armor - 4 Dl weps)
6 Rangers (2 lvl 190+, others 181-184 - 3 DL weps - almost all Full DL)
6+ Warriors (3 lvl 190+, others 186-188 - 5 Dl Weps - almost all full Dl armor)
3 Rogues (1 lvl 190 Dl wep/armor, all almost full DL)

Many druids
Some extras below 180

Info:

Rage timer on Mordris is 20 minutes
Respawn time for Priestess is ~5 minutes
Respawn time for Troll Guards is 15 minutes

Progress on Mordris:
At 5 Minutes - 10% down - Priestess Spawns back
At 10 Minutes - 12% down - Guards start spawning, Rangers occupied with Priestess, Priestess potentially healing Mordris
10-20 Minutes - 15% down - Dps occupied with adds - No progress on mordris - Rages at 20. Game over

Brainstorming strategies...

Ok some of my thoughts strategies wise

To deal with priestess and her heals i would sugjest shield bash if you see the skill start casting.

Seeing your numbers you could have 2 warriors for bashing priestess.
2 warriors to tank the trolls as they respawn both tank groups with the appropriate amount of heals.

1-2 tanks on mordris both spamming taunt and shield bash.(one not so much so aggro doesnt switch bak and forth.) just in case the main tank dies. In tanks group could be 2 tanks 1 maxed lure monkey(along with lure monkey have a maxed dps warrior with shatter and tell rogues to only sneaky[if they use] when shatter is up) and 5 heals with touch breath maxed and separate out the different buffs.

Have one dps group just to stand at mordris's back just to kill mordris. Hasted to beat rage. Have one rogue with expose and smoke maxed. All rogues should have poison weps and shadowstrike maxed for big unresisted dmg. And they can buff rangers while a ranger w/maxed sharpen buffs the group also.

One dps group to rotate around on the adds(trolls, priestess) like 1 druid in group just in case. Killing priestess should be top priority seeing as the tank and druids could survive a while holding the trolls till the dps group finishes priestess.

Any group outside of the just mordris killing group constantly be searching for respawned adds. Once there are no adds tanks can help bash, druids heal and dps help kill while watching for respawns.

Add any numbers you can to previously mentioned^^^

Any extra help would be if another clan could be there to help kill the priestess and adds.

You also said u have tons of druids. Try an play around with roots. Even if it just on trolls. Could make the adds much easier.

Hope this helps get some ideas flowing.
I see it as taking a super powerful ymir  (multiple groups an tanks for separate things i mean)

One is below who was lvl 122 and royal which couldnt be seen was 144 and including myself.

All of us had maxed touch, breath and sanctuary and with an extra skill whether it be bark, embrace, fire slash and crush ward. Tanking went smoothly until adds spawned which killed druids and resulted in tank dying, luckily that didnt happen very often.

Overall it was very good for our first attempt and went much better than i had expected. Hopefully with more of our dps on and better control over the priestess we may be able to kill next time.

I'm assuming it will take 2-3 true attempts to actually kill mordris. And for a clan only kill unless you are the only end game clan you arnt only one clan killing mordris any time soon.

Good luck. I hope someone finds a better strategy then what i mentioned. Or fine tunes mine:)

Don't forget me on your druids list!

It seemed our tank (Immortalius: 190+, full dl + wep, maxed vit) was able to tank very well considering our druids. We kept him alive, and only once did I see his hp go below 1/2. Also, the Fingal's Bane skill only hit me once, and while I was taking screenshots of our dps. A study of its mechanics would be very useful.

All in all this experiment was very useful: it shows that our server needs LOTS of dedicated DPS toons!

Good job to Pillars and Pride. The experiment run was well worth it.

Priestess must have a large variable in which she can spawn, typically is 15 min as well from what I've seen.

In hindsight i may be wrong, might be closer to 10- 15mins didnt time that one.
