The Dal Riata Inquirer learned today that a new feature is in store for the next major update: Stocks!
Have you ever been victimized by a scammer, or annoyed by a bothersome player who insists on asking you to duel repeatedly until you block them?
Hold that thought...
"Used to be there was no recourse for dealing with an unruly individual, short of blocking them. But not anymore!"
A new button will soon be added to the screen displayed when observing a player. It will read, "Place in stocks."
If enough people vote (in a 24 hour period) to have this player placed in stocks, the toon will be forcibly placed in stocks in the center of the castle courtyard for 5 minutes. The fountain that currently occupies this location will reportedly be removed to make way for the new instruments of justice.
The anonymous source that shared this bit of news was quoted as saying, "Used to be there was no recourse for dealing with an unruly individual, short of blocking them. But not anymore!"
The source went on to say that the feature has already been tested on the beta server. And the new stocks have been utilized quite heavily. It is not uncommon to see 2 or 3 toons occupying the stocks in the courtyard at one time. And often the players responsible for placing them there can be seen making merry in front of them; cheering and dancing as the guilty pay their penance.
