Chests

Has anyone ever considered the fact that a large proportion of chests are opened on the first day of a new event? This meaning that most of the best loot from the chests will be obtained on the first day... I also think that people are more likely to publicise their loot when they are the first to have the best (No one likes being second

). This, in my opinion, would create the false belief that the chests are nerfed.
Any other ideas?

I agree , I do not think chests are nerfed by otm . I think it's easy to complain when you don't get what you want , the complete randomness of the chests is annoying though lol

Just looking at the fashion itself, there are 10 different colors that I can think of at the moment (red, green, blue, yellow, pink, orange, turquoise, purple, black, and white). Each color has 5 different pieces so that makes 50 different colored pieces for the regular fashion. But now we have to take into account the snowbound version of each color. This gives us a grand total of 100 different frostguard fashion. This gives us a 1% chance of getting a specific piece that we want if the chests only have fashion. Add in all the other stuff and we get well below 1% chance on any single item. We can get up to 3 items per chest so that lowers our chances even greater. But wait, there's more! Items such as potions, idols, elixers, sigils and all the other stuff that we dont really want but are in there anyways probably are weighted so that we are more likely to get those than the rare items. (This is done so the rare items dont become common and everyone and their dog will have one. Such as the relic dragonstaffs and the black and white sunlit fashion...) So overall your chances of getting an item that you want is pretty low. I choose to believe that OTM has not nerfed the chests in anyway.

so why do i get better stuff from the chests i bought at the event release than from the chests i bought later?

Say there is a 1% chance of getting a mount from the chest. (Obviously much less)
On the first day, around 1000-2000 people will open the chests because of the new event (again, not exact but relates to %chance for mount), therefore there will be about 15-20 mounts people have gotten from chests. In the end, day 1 had 20 mounts, many people are happy that they are getting good rewards. On the second day, much fewer people open chests, and it keeps getting less each day so the chance of good decreases.
Day 1 = 20 mounts , 2000 chests
Day 2 = 10 mounts, 1000 chests
Day 3 = 5 mounts, 500 chests
etc
People start opening less after the first day, so less 'mounts'.
*None of these numbers are accurate.

They do infact nerf the chests but keep ip banning me thinking itll get them

Lol wow.. Its all about luck. Some people just dont have it. I havent opened that many, maybe like 300 and i think the best plat ive gotten is 330 and gold is 50k. Never got any staff. I suggest selling them instead of opening, i make most my money doing that and then if i see something i want from a chest someone got lucky enough to get i try and buy it with the gold i made.

Perhaps they don't nerf the chests after the first day. But they still dilute them with more items every event, which is indirectly a nerf since it reduces the chances of the good items dropping.

Perhaps they don't nerf the chests after the first day. But they still dilute them with more items every event, which is indirectly a nerf since it reduces the chances of the good items dropping.
Just like with the candycanes, my first try before the event I got a 50 dam with 10% proc, now I've been getting BELOW 20 dam and its worthless to the vendor :\

I think you should mean spending more time in English, I believe he meant to say less mounts
being recieved, there is the same chance of a mount coming from a chest, yet less people have one at the end of the day due to the fact that less people are opening chests.
