For a while now, I have been wondering why a level 30 heavy hitting warrior with a damage stat greater than a level 80 tank with 5 str hits less. On a boss, my warrior (lvl86) tank hits about 45. But my rouge with a greater damage stat hits 5's
Why????

No, that makes no sense. I just explained how damage is higher on the lower leveled character

Are these hits on the same type and level of mobs?
Maybe post your 3 guys lvl and stats an dmg on same level and type of mob.
I know some mobs have different resist. Maybe the one you compared had high pierce resist an not slash or crushing resist. So post some detailed stats so can compare.

It all has to do with your level comparing to the mob.
Mobs are Resistant to your damage compared to the level you are compared to that mob.
a level 20 with 3828 dmg stat is still only goin to hit for 1s if they can actually hit a lvl 90 mob.
your level 86ish character will hit decently on a lvl 90 boss. but even then your damage is reduced..
Take the same stats you have and put them on a lvl 95 warrior compared to 90 boss.. they will be
smacking for hundreds higher than the 86.. Just because he has the levels and therefore the mob
is less resistant to him.

Yes, unfortunately, this is how it is. Level is a factor when it comes to damage. That means the damage stat is base damage which has a coefficient according to level differences.
Its stupid...
