Aggro

Been seeing a lot of people blasting bosses/mobs with skills/spells before the tank is able to build up enough aggro, and they wonder why they're the first to res/ley lol. Do mobs just go after whomever is doing the most dmg? or does aggro actually build as the fight progresses? sorry for my ignorance about all of this - i havent ever played the warrior class in this game, and am wondering the mechanics behind this

Thanks!

When I was group leveling in carrow on my warrior this was the most annoying thing for me, some of the other players especially the mages was higher level than me and would run out infront and lure the mob before I had chance to gain aggro and taunt. Please for the love of God if your reading this and level with a tank let him taunt first cuz u have no idea how annoying it is lol

I think you're just upset because mages eshield helps them tank mobs better than slowpoke warriors :D hehe

What's not mentioned in biteys blog about aggro is that in celtic heroes there is a big level multiplier. The lower your level the more your aggro is magnified. To the point where a level 100 warrior can out taunt and pull a high level boss like snorri (180) and reset it and a maxed out lvl190 tank can do almost nothing about it.

It makes bossing in mixed level groups very hard as even if I warcry, taunt and bash a boss while using low level calm on nubs I group they often take aggro anyway despite doing almost no damage to the boss and die.

Btw the "earth devouring elder gods" "now available in fun size" pic is pretty damn funny.

Also as to the original question boss raids often are preceded by carefully laid plans and giving each participant a detailed list of things to do in order to make for a very clean clockwork like kill.
Then someone throws a fireball and it's like a chaotic cat grenade went off where everyone just does random stuff untill after excessive zerging the boss finally dies.

On basic aggro generation, besides lvl system (assuming they all have equal terms lvl wise), I believe that theres a difference in basic aggro gain regardless of dps between classes, with rogue generating the most and warrior the least (basic, that means excluding taunt and warcry), but a warrior has taunt and warcry (and bash) to generate aggro for that and needs to wait a bit for him to 'stack' aggro. We dont know what the numbers of the gain mean, we can estimate that a certain number is considered rather high or not (like on mordy braces), but I think that taunt and warcry need a slight increase in it, it has no downside to increase the aggro gain and it'll only speed up the start of the fight.

As for ppl attacking recklessly, wait for the tank to say 'go'.
