Let's make a scenario. I deal 50poisom damage, 500pierce, 200divine, and 100 heat damage per auto hit. Would double attack deal 100 poison 1000 pierce 400 divine and 400 heat, or just 1900 physical damage?

It probably calculates the next two autos and adds them up. If it was just physical damage, your double attack would be very different from your 2x auto.

Skills (afaik) turn your combined damage into one type. Auto attacks do not

I'm pretty certain it is the equivelant of two auto attacks. The main benefit being it cannot miss so is decent on hard to hit bosses.

So if I wear a weapon that is mixed dmg, like frostiron axe, which dmg will it convert to? Slash or Cold? If Divine is converted to Physical dmg, then why cant I hit my maximum dmg on dummy with Double Attack? And so on with these examples.

The op was correct, in that it doubles all of your damage bonuses and combines them into one hit.
It does not convert all of your damage to the same dmg type as your weapon.
Calculate how much divine dmg you deal, and go to stonevale and auto one of those divine ghosts. Your hit should be exactly what you calculated it to be. Now use double attack, and your hit should be twice that.

I don't think it converts damage at all. As others have said it just doubles the damage of an auto. If you can land a 1200 auto on a raid boss, double attack will multiply that by two for roughly a 2400 skill hit. And the dmg will fluctuate just as much as autos do.
