Mass players - device disabled for scamming

So so far we've had A LOT of players in Lirs, Balor, Donn, and Fingal have gotten this message including bank toons. It's some crazy random mass banning that's humorous as in it's ridiculous as it's hitting some very heavy plat buyers accussing them of being scammers. And the players I know personally that have been hit with this I've played with for years and all have a very good reputation with never once an accusation of being a scammer.
So my question is this, what exactly is a ban from scamming? OTMs stance has always been all trades are final and be careful and players are held accountable for the trades they do, so this gets rid of the whole someone 'scammed' another player. I've seen players get banned for botting, buying items with out of game currency, and account sharing. I've never seen device disabled for scamming. And what is the process OTM staff takes to make sure a player is guilty of scamming. Why are players not given anymore information than the generic message of 'device disabled for scamming'?
