has anybody completed the chess quest?

I'm trying to figure out what drops king and queen pieces. I know its probably bosses in the catacombs but I'm not sure and it hasn't been approved by anyone. I know for sure its somewhere in the catacombs if you talk to the gossip lady in highshore village.

-White pawns, rooks, bishops, and knights can be obtained from the chessmaster bandits (spawns very rarely, keep killing long(something) bandits to get him to spawn if he's not there) and the goblin chess apprentice who is in the goblin caves near the red cavern keystone, just about a room before. (Its the room that branches off into the room you can find the puppy in.)

Thats about as much as I know. Supposedly you can also get one to spawn at the outlaws but I've never seen it happen before.

do you now where the bandits are??

Bandits are near temple just go up the mountain and there camp is there. Make sure you only kill the higher level bandits in the camp itself with the tents, they're called longsomethings...

Been Killing the gaurds next to the tents for ages now thought i might be in the wrong place. will have to try and kill more

The quests are getting a patch today.

As well as adding new quests we are tweaking the chest quest to make it easier to get the king and queen.

We'll post in announcements as soon as the new version is ready to go.

Chess king and queen now drop off the chessmasters in the bandit camp and croockback hollow. Let us know if the quest is now easier.

I have over 40 chess pieces now but no Knights is this a glitch or am I just unlucky
