Why are we being bothered

Isn't the block button so that I can act as if a player doesn't exist and get on with my gameplay in peace? Why can blocked players still cast spells on you if they're blocked? it's nonsense. If you block someone, they shouldn't be able to click on your toon at all, it'd be as if 'filter players' was toggled on for those who have blocked you and you cannot target them.
Just a couple days ago we had two nincompoops calming our tank on skain. If our tank has them blocked, they shouldn't be able to target our tank let alone cast spells on him. Another example is on prot when low dex low cunning rogues over write our poison weapon with their crappy one... doesn't make any sense. If I block a player I want it so that player can't even look at my gear, let alone overwrite or cast spells on me.
Must be a bug? surely it doesn't make sense that a blocked player can calm a main tank to ruin a raid, right?...
Or is it seen okay as they're just ability training? Pah...

Because blocking a player shouldnt change any gameplay except interractions through text chat. Thats the ONLY reason its there, to stop any form of chat/grping/requests. If blocking made it so competition couldnt calm you, or in other words, if you blocked people, they cant touch you, even if the other doesnt have you blocked, so lets throw arena out of the game, also any competetive lock battles with tanks being calmed by druids.

Calming tanks isn't competiton. It's childish.

It’s in the game, your competition are obviously going to take advantage of the games features to beat you. Should players be allowed to beat you at lock battles even if you have them blocked? They’re still going to be playing in the same game as you, at least if you have them blocked they can’t harass you or bully you, which is the point of the block button.

Who said anything about a lock battle? But whilst we're on the subject sure lets talk about the poison weapon part... It doesn't make sense, lock battle or not, that a weaker PW should overwrite a stronger one. It's a poor design that OTM simply didn't think of.

Sly is correct, the block function prevents UI interactions, it does not prevent in-game mechanics.
The team previously reviewed Calms ability to be used on non group members but decided to keep it as is, we may review this again in time.
Poison weapon overwrite may be a bug, we now have a ticket in for review.

A level 49 skill will never override a level 50 skill. But in all aspects of the game once the skills are on the same level they are considered equal regardless of the effect they have. If this has been a bug for 6 years that's major but I think it's by design.

2 level 50 PW's can have very different stats. It should be the strongest one that ranks highest.
