Are Dragon Eggs Permanent or Temporary?

Will dragon eggs only be around until next event? Or will dragon eggs be in all future chest updates as well.

Previously stated by Muldar that it is for the time being permanent... in case of change of OTMs mind well be notified ahead of time...
Sounds like it could go either way.
