Chicken Taming Ability?

I completed all the Pet Taming quests a long time ago. If I go back to the lady who gave those quests, none are available. If I look at my character's abilities I see taming abilities for most types of pets, but I do not have a Chicken Taming ability. Have I missed something or does that ability not exist?

You get the chicken taming ability from the chicken hunt guy in Lirs.

Are you serious? That guy doesn't say he grants an ability, just that he will give you 50 gold.
Assuming you are correct, I am level 116 and have not ever seen a Black Dumpy or a Marsh Brown. Do they actually exist?
