Calm is really nice to have in Boss fights

#1
On our world sometimes we don’t have the numbers or not enough higher level folks to easily defeat a boss. That is where the calm comes in. At higher levels it is and instant cast! So if a tank dies I can cast is around and heal people until the dead tank comes back. *Note this is a challenge and you have to cast it at the critical moment before the characters die.

Another way I have used it is in a Keep the druid alive technique. Granted the folks I grouped with were all lower level, the leystone was close, and it was a lower level boss but I just spammed myself with calm, and tanked when they were all dead and healed myself when they came back and were attacked. It was fun and the lower level folks got to participate and were very appreciative....and their characters may have lost a few pounds with all that running

The other interesting thing that I noticed was that if I cast calm around some the boss seems to get confused for a little while. It’s like the boss is trying to decide who he should hit or throw one of his skills at. I'll usually call out the boss is bugged but about that time he starts back again. I’m thinking that it messes with the algorithm a little on whom the boss should attack. Now I've only seen this a couple of times, but I'm thinking about trying it in a test to see if it is an effective strategy!

So try to Calm Down its fun

Hi thanks for the insight. Up to now I thought calm was pretty useless skill. Was certain there was a useful purpose for it, but just couldn't figure it out. Also wat lvl is calm skill at and which bosses have you been successful using it on?
Once again thanks! Sincerely Dalgo

Hmm my calm is level 13, I believe and I have used it successfully against all bosses. Since it instant casts I can spam it over and over so the castee eventually losses aggro....mostly. Sometimes I wait too late. :( It seems that the lower the boss the fewer times you have to cast on a target. The good thing is that with instant cast you can hit it over and over until the target losses aggro. I like the fact that I'm not just pushing the green leaf, pushing the pink flower, pushing the green leaf, pushing the bark, and repeat ...........Forever! CAN U SAY BORING!!!!!! I get to Direct the battle so to speak with calm and its cool.

Oh and one funny side effect is that you can cast it on someone a bunch of times when they are not in a fight and your druid looks like they are having a seizure and clam messages fill the screen. The target usually says something like "I feel so calm now for some reason"

God luck if you try it. I know its not a healing skill but I have to think it can turn the tide for some battles for sure!

Well when I used calm it was to gain agro lol.

I maxed my calm an whenever the two rival clans would start a boss fight our tank would get cloak of fire and I would spam cast calm till he obtained agro. Reasoning is that once he got agro he could be dealing his damge and have extra damage from cloak making him the main dps of the fight this giving us the kill.

Also the spam casting would cause lagg on the other teams tank giving a possibility of a disconnection from all the lag.

I would stop casting calm if agro landed on one of there healers this way the healer died and was harder for enemy team tank to stay alive. But I don't use calm anymore I use roots and I prefer roots so far.

Lol yeah I have used calm in late night wolf fights, to just make sure I am not tanking and that wolf is burning everyone else and I stay alive and watch everyone else die and reset :) evil but lots of wolf hats.
