Strike hits at a distant, with much less en usage and faster recharge. I'd say yes.

agreed, ive played druid just enough to know how useful it is. when I was just starting I didn't see the value of it, but its about equal, if not better, in dps compared to strangling vines. I might to the math to compare, so ill start a new druid and compare damage and energy costs. but I think at lv1, ls does 20 dmg and recharges every 5-10 sec I think. while sv does like 3-5 dmg every 5 secs for 30 secs.
so yes ls can be better dps, but the energy cost is probably more, bc, while vines is only 3-4 energy in the beginning, 2 energy X 6 times cast is not so desirable for energy in terms of energy consumption.

Since druids rely on dots (damage over time skills) lightning touch provides a nice addition because of its instant damage. Damage is fairly good on regular mobs but absolutely awful in the arena.
