I personally don't like it. It can be a pain when leveling. For example if a mob targets someone who you're in a group with and they have your embrace active. It's going to run for you straight away.
I do find it useless at bosses, if another druid has it higher than your's, its a waste of points. Much like any other druid buff. As support you'd be better off putting points elsewhere, Breath or Sanc maybe?
Embrace is best when going full support. Far better if leveling to put points in other skills.
The exception is if you come by some good rings, then I would consider embrace.
Like any druid skill, it's value depends on what situation you are in. Personally, I don't use it much because it generates aggro each tick it heals so it will draw adds to you.
However, I have recently been using it when I've been in the group managing the Raised Spirits at the Necromancer fight, and it works reasonably well. I've been using this because of spirit scourge. The DoT skill spirits do is brutal, and the dl offhand skill doesn't cool down fast enough to deal with it all the time. So one of my answers for this to counter the scourge DoT skill is to cast my embrace HoT spell. It only heals about 300 each tick, where scourge damages about 1k per tick. But I think it's still worth it because it's a little extra heal that buys me time to cast an extra touch or embrace.
Don't use embrace for leveling though. There are other skills that are better to use.
