To some extent, all damage is reduced. Armor or magic/fire/ice resists affect the damage done even considering that the number given is for the absolute most possible damage you can deliver. The problem is that druids don't have any way around it without a mage who uses lure of magic.
Druids and mages have primary attacks that mobs have resistances to. All classes have it with auto but none of the other classes instant damage skills that are based on something that has potential reduction in damage. Example is that sneaky attack does not say that it is pierce damage related, it just does up to the damage it says.
Casters did get a bit of a raw deal on that. Considering that our main forms of damage are our skills that get evaded often enough, we should be doing higher damage to compensate for that.
