Re: Dragon Tanking and Abundance
#2So ambundance makes you or someone else resist dragon fire (the big hit) and you have to cast it again to remove the DoT?

Re: Dragon Tanking and Abundance
#3Hi. No. Abundance resists or removes the dragons health debbuff. Apparently this has been known about health debuffs in general and the current theory is that you need the same amount of points in Abundance as the boss has Stars. I did not know this and have not tested it. Aleph commented on this with a link and quote in the tank forum thread.
The Dragons health debuff reduces the tanks health enough that the dragons breath has a much more dramatic effect. For my tank (120) on Ythair it is the difference of being able to tank the dragon and not.
I have not yet determined or read which ability supports the tank resisting dragon's breath. I have never seen an ability go up as a result of dragon's breath yet, so simply don't know. My tank has about 1k Warding and sometimes gets evasions. I have no idea if this is due to the warding. Presumably Fire Ward is useful for damage mitigatiion at least. Tanks in full Frozen seem to do noticeably better.

Re: Dragon Tanking and Abundance
#4To be clear the theory (tested up to 4 point abundance skill level) goes like this:Hi. No. Abundance resists or removes the dragons health debbuff. Apparently this has been known about health debuffs in general and the current theory is that you need the same amount of points in Abundance as the boss has Stars.
- if your abundance skill points are equal to the mob's stars, you will cancel out the mob's health debuff, and the mob will cancel out your abundance
- if your abundance skill points are greater than the mob's stars, you will cancel out the mob's health debuff if it is active and you will resist any casts of the health debuff until abundance expires
- if your abundance skill points are lower than the mob's stars, you are out of luck. You can't cast abundance on someone affected by the mob's health debuff, and the mob's health debuff will remove abundance
