Re: strangling vines VS Stinging swarm

#11
I have maxed swarm, but still have not even tried vines.could somone.tell.me.which does.more damage, uses more energy.and cooldown (When maxed)? All i.remember is.that swarm used around 180 energy 20/20

Thx
I echo the sentiments of most others here.

The only thing I would add is to think of Swarm as a supplement to your Vines damage... not a replacement. It does burn more energy for less payout, but it is still a great skill.

If I were your level, I might run a 20/20 Vines, with Swarm at 10/20 ~ 15/20. I would do the same with Lightning and Storm (if you can get your hands on it).

The most important thing is your Energy usage/conservation. Move your points up slowly and test out your build. ie. put 15 points into Vines and Lightning and 8 into Swarm. Go out and kill some mobs your level. If you are not burning through too much Energy, you might consider bumping up your numbers slightly, and killing some more.

When maxed out, Stinging Swarm does more damage,
my swarms 21/25 and does alot less than my maxed vines, wen does it get better?
It doesn't... not in the way you are thinking, anyway. If you read all of Royal's post, rather than that one sentence, you would understand.

He was pointing out that since it is an AoE, it has the potential to do far far more damage than Vines.

ex. 10 mobs are attacking your tank, you cast Swarm once and it does 200 points per tick on each (2000 points of damage per tick) whereas Vines cast once would only do, say, 800 points per tick on a single mob.

i am assuming you do not use much plat and do not have the best regain there is, in wich case vines beat swarm easily. my vines at 49 do approx 1k-1.6k dmg per tick on 180+ mobs, while swarm only does 400-700 dmg. if u do the math ull notice vines do almost 2.5 times the dmg, and lasts longer, plus its less energy cost. overall id go with vines, preferably both tho. personally i like the setup with vines, swarm, storm and lighting all max with rest of points devided on energy harvest and natures touch (for lvling). tho do keep in mind im a lvl 180 full dps druid that wastes tons of plat lvling and bossing cuz of this energy-sucking build
Hey Yrck! I find it funny because im using that exact same build as you.

There is also a catch just like banks, here lemme rephrase for ya ;)
:D druid dps powarrrrrr
with the insane energy cost is not covered with the insane damage, play dps at your own risk and spend hundreds of dollars for energy pots
This seems more correct
