Ahh.. Swarm hits less than Vines on levelling mobs because their resistances aren't as high (bosses are a different story). Incorporating 2 DoT skills into a levelling build is going to end up being very boring to play and will make you lose interest, that's why I like the instant damage (on impact) of Storms Touch and Lightning Strike, whilst Vines essentially boosts my Auto DoT.

If you were going for an all-out DPS build, you could drop Nature's Touch and add Swarm.. Would be okay as long as you had a decent amount of health sigils or were plowing through pots (I don't really like using Pots whilst levelling).

The Ancient Beast legs did help a lot (DL Legs only gives Sanctuary). If you can get a 50/ Lightning Strike without the +5 from DL gloves, then I'd definitely recommend Ancient Beast gloves too.

Same with DL gloves for the top, if you have a 50/ Touch without the DL top, then using the Ancient Beast top could work well. If not, I'd stick to DL top for the extra Armour and Nature Magic.

I LOVE this build; as much fun as my def build was on my rogue!!! I use this build on my lvl 140 druid. Mixed with Maxxee's guide, i had slight changes:

70 magic dmg helm
Greater es bp
Lesser legs
Rad gloves n boots
Lvl 100 fire axe
Adamant icon or h2h
Event foc ammy
Godly bat charm 80 foc
Lvl100 energy brace (second brace on a diff alt)
Roy nat touch
Grand winds
Fabled vines and lightning

Train solo on combos and 0 pots per lix unless multiple mobs on me at once. Average 2 bars per. I dont use any dex because i get 700 def from armor. Tearing thru boggs and gaining bone shards quickly :-)

Nat touch 32/30
Winds 34/30
Lightning 31/30
Vines 31/30
Storm 30/30

Couple questions- I am a level 173 druid planning on trying this build
the gear I currently own is as follows:
full ancient beastbone, full dl except wep and robe, 100 focus ammy, 500 hp brooch, adamant icon, royal and grand swarm and vine rings, 40 focus/vit braces, and possibly a +6 atach helm.

I realize its harder without any hrung or aggy gear or a dl totem but I could purchase any lux gear necessary. In terms of bracelets would you recommend using the ones I have? or maybe buying either a pair of shrouding or 250 hp bracelets? I also have two 8 crush dmg bracelets. Would a adamant icon suffice or should I invent in an ancient wyrmbone totem? Finally, how much defence should I aim for? I am already planning to buy a 250 def brooch so maybe 150 or so dex should do? (550 def while not on combo)

I'd recommend:

- Royal Atach Helm
- Ancient Beastbone Top
- Ancient Beastbone Legs
- Rest Dragonlord
- Your Focus/Vit Braces

Crush Braces would be useless as you wouldn't have enough Strength to multiply the damage. Adamant Icon may work okay. Of course for best results you'd need DL totem for the Focus AND Damage boost. Defence Event Brooch would help a lot. You should aim for 500+ Defence whilst not on Combo, and Howling Winds preferably a few levels over maxed (as the main thing with this build is taking the mobs attack down to 0).
