Ok im not giving up quite yet. Take a look at this screenshot:

When you get a ward cast on you, these numbers go up. When you get a lure cast on you these numbers go down. When garanak casts lure of death on you these numbers go down

When you get shield of bark cast on you these numbers stay the same.

Similarly, when you get a ward or lure cast on you your armor is unaffected. When you get bark cast on you your armor goes up.

Make sense?
Armor is directly linked to resistance... I'll go test myself I guess... But I'm almost positive those resists go up when barked

No kidding! Well i guess i just learned something today. Thank you!
That's why your gear has elemental resist and not physical resist direct boost. I pondered where the random numbers came from that made up physical resists and found that armor is physical resist. That's why mages still can hit hard on tanks with tons of armor

IMO Otm should make a shield of nature that is basically bark for elemental and get rid of the stupid wards

Its armor, so this is a very confusing topic!
Poison damage will go thru arguably 68% of your armor. Fire, Ice,pierce,slash,crush,and magic are all rebuffed by armor AND resists, while poison is mostly only effected by resists.
Divine damage ignores all armor and resist, is almost unevadeable, and is only dealt to chaos imbuned mobs.

Kk I'm not a druid but I got shield-of-barked several times so I have this figured out.

Shield of bark increases your armor, and armor adds crush, pierce, and slash resis by the same amount (so if you have 400 armor, your crush, pierce, and slash resis will increase by 400 each).

However, bark does not contribute to elemenal resis (fire, ice, magic), rendering it useless against mage and druid skills


Lures (of fire/ice/magic/giant/assassin/soldier) only decreases its specific respective resis.
Wards (of fire/ice/magic/giant/assassin/soldier) only increases its specific respective resis.
