Winds weren't nerfed per se, just mob attack went past 2k.
I still survive fine on firbolg raiders with 310 defense and a -1723 wind. I have 3k hp and lose about 1k per bolg (takes the length of about 1 vines to kill each).
Is it a good skill still for solo? Ya. Is it underpowered? No. Is it a skill I use regularly with the mob attack increase? No. Would I use it for solo still? Ya.
I understand wind was awesome, and I was a pretty darn good dps and wind druid that leveled with a mage before the nerf without ever getting hit. But really, chars have to be hit at some point, or it defeats the purpose of auto attack and druids may aswell not exist except to use wind and dps if it worked like pre nerf.
I Think it is underpowered now and I do not think it is as useful at all.
Also I think it added a different dimension to the class pre patch and it was one I enjoyed very much.
Also howling wind never had a massive effect on a lot of bosses(ow eyes excluded) so I don't understand why you would feel if it worked as it should that druids would just hw and dps. Besides I thought with mob skill hits being as high as they are this update it would add an interesting challenge to solo a gloom troll with my main.
Besides howling wind was great fun to use and most druids I know who used it never complained it made their build boring, if anything it made the class playable in a solo capacity which I thought was great it was also great if you had aggro from adds on you and you could cast hw, cast a heal on a tank then focus on the add while you waited for support. The interrupts of casts are so frustrating now it really sucks the fun out of playing.
Just fix it back to pre patch glory because it is crap now.
Nowhere in my post did I mention bosses. Skill hits aren't terribly high on the new mobs like bolgs, unless you go zapping seers and shamans. I can solo a gloom troll without a wind-based build with only vines and strike for dps also, there are other options then a dps wind druid.
I get around zilla's test2 dodge % on mobs, I don't think that's underpowered at all.
As for boss adds, your dps and other people at the boss should, and rightly so, protect the squish. Dead squish = dead team.
