As a 136 full heal druid I am struggling to find fun it the game. There has been a big let down since XP weekend and I have rebirthed back to a full heal druid.
When there is a boss up life could not be better. But bosses are slow coming and as a full heal druid I am 100% dependent on others for dps. It is hard to find other players to group with because of my lack of dps and my level….136.
So I am thinking of a change and also asking for ideas.
How do I stay an awesome healer for my clan and also be able to level?
Current Stats
Strength – 5
Dex – 5
Focus – 595 (with bonuses 752)
Vitality – 100 (with bonuses 157)
Skills
Natures Touch 30/30 (with ring 34/30) 1156 heal
Natures Breath 30/30 (with ring 33/30) 580 group heal
Shield of Bark 30/30 (with two rings 39/30) add 535 Armor
Abundance 25/30 adds 668 to max health
Abundant Aura 25/30 adds 351 to group max health
So as you can see who would not want me in there boss group.
But here are my other skills
Lightning Strike 1/15 dps= up to 105 (this averages around 60)
Strangling Vines 1/15 dps=30 per click (this averages around 22)
Storm Touch 1/30 dps= up to 246 (this averages around 150)
Now you can see why I am not the best choice to level with.
I have one +4 Storm Touch Ring and wish I had four +4 Lightning Strike rings
So what am I to do?
When I was a DPS Druid it was amazing and it is the primary reason I was able to level to 136.
So do I go back to DPS and disappoint my clan?
Do I cut Abundance and put points in Lightning Strike?
I am bored with my druid, so bored I started play a level 30 Mage!
This is a hard choice that only level 120 plus druids can understand, so please give me post some feedback
I wish the devo's would come up with more than just rings to help us druids walk both sides better.
Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#2I would have imagine your clan while being appreciative to your full heal built should also be equally supportive for level grouping?
You need to have a good discussion with your clan and understand how far they will go in being supportive for your current built. If its double standards.. kinds of big hint what you need to do next.
It obviously takes two hands to clap.
Alternatively, you can also discuss with the other clan druids on sharing responsibilities. You could focus on abundance while another abundance aura etc. This will lessen your load and more skill points back into some damage spells.

#3Ok I'm nowhere near your level, but I got bored doing the Druid lvling thing... Especially because I lasted about half an hour as dps... Before going to a bossfight and being useless lol... So I started playing on my rogue... And I'm loving it!
Basically I still rely heavily on grouping to lvl up on my Druid, but if there isn't anyone available I hop onto my rogue and just go hard on that! Great for gold runs too... Best of both worlds... Dps rogue and group advantages of a full heal Druid...
Please bear in mind I need to update my sig...

#4After XP weekend i was 140
never thought that it could go that fast but now.... Never train anymore :|
I use the same skills as you do but i don't use ambundant auro and have some wards upgraded also got a high meditate because i don't buy plat and so don't got sigils.
If you don't care about wards and feel like dropping ambundant aura you should also drop a few points of bark. Where is natures embrace ?
Then look for good rings (i got a +5 for storms and vines and a +4 for storms and vines) and that works well.
If you find rings like that you should upgrade the attacking skill to +/- 7 and then rock it with the rings (only when u got really good rings).
More i dont know and i got problems to![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#5Like said above... shouldn't your clan appreciate your healing built and help you level?
If you want to be a hybrid, first of all: Get rings.
Skills I'd chose:
- Touch
- Breath
- Abundance
- Bark
- Lightning
- Vines
I wouldn't max out Breath. It takes a ton of energy. Also, maybe keep Abundance at 20. That (with rings) will give you enough points for attack skills. I didn't put Storm Touch, because lightning reloads faster and thus does more dmg over time. Vines also do a good amount of dmg.
Btw, is the tank you are healing a lvl 130-140 with a full tank built? Because imo no one can expect you to run around as a full support druid if the tank isn't ready to nerf his attack power also! And with a real tank you don't need as many points in Abundance in the first place.

Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#7Thanks for the feedback
Mostly what I already knew just wanted to have it confirmed.
I need to find some DPS rings just have not had any luck with drops yet.
And yes Embrace is amazing but as a clan we made me the Abundance and Bark Druid. Embrace is amazing but I have no points for it.
My current build lets me solo heal most boss fights and I do like that.
I think I will work to find more DPS Rouges and Warriors and befriend them for leveling.
Part of me just hope that Admin might read this to understand what a full healing druid goes through.
I still think they should design a staff that nerfs healing power and converts it to dps.![Idea ](./images/smilies/icon_idea.gif)

Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#8Druid clans might be a good answer. Some could be healers, some could be fighters - others could be a little bit of both if they wanted. With enough druids together in a clan, you would always have someone to level with or go to a boss fight with though.Part of me just hope that Admin might read this to understand what a full healing druid goes through.
It would be a good way to stick together and help up and coming druids too.

Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#9I am 136 too and have a similar dilemma. I've also shifted to leveling my mage--what fun! I've tried a full dps druid a few times and love it. It's a ton of fun, but I still need to group to level with a dps build. Plus I tend to rip aggro from 140+ rogues...and die... Leveling in my clan is hard because there are only a few people my level, the rest are above 140 or around 125. Plus we love doing bosses, lots and lots of them.
Re: The Lamentations of a high level Druid
#10I personally would bail on Aura. How you need to run directly 6 inches away from the target is riddiculous. And scale back Abundance & Bark to like 20/30, if you look at the added benefit of those points, it's something, but not necessarily necessary. Especially in that Bark only gives armor (physical resistance). That should give you 40 points to hybrid some dps in. And maybe a useful boss ward like Fire or Giants.
How you choose to spec your buffs though might need a conference with yer other clan Druids. I know I cover a few and other clan Druids spec not in what I use so we can compliment eachother. So whatever you bail, see if another Druid wants to consider picking up.
Just my thoughts, I'm a full 20 lvls lower.
