Anyone use it? In what situations is it useful? Boss hunting? I've never spent much time playing with it, so I'm just curious. Thanks!

It's a cool skill with a lot of potential, but I don't use it in my regular build. What I like about it is that when you have it on, your skills can't be intterrupted. This can be good for reapplying bark or casting touch while in battle, because these skills are seriously prone to interruption. The reason why I don't use it is that it doesn't protect from enough damage, and its cooldown is kinda slow. Trying to use it on trolls is a joke because they can take out your sanctuary in one blow. While it's nice that you don't take the damage, you aren't able to take advantage of the fact your skills won't be interrupted.
The other reason I don't use it is that I don't have enough points, and there are other skills that I would use over it.

This!
It has potential but the ramp-up of damage protection versus skill investment is not worth it!
If the developers decide to reevaluate the skill, I will give it another look. I have used it for a couple months and just recently resigned to the conclusion that whatever amount of skill points I invest in Sanctuary could be better used on Embrace.

I have it at level 6 (dragonlord legs) however see LOTS of potential for it. It has low energy costs and decent results. The main problem is that the skill does not give enough of a blockage to aid against much when it comes to bosses...

I really love this skill. Its similar to nature's breath but IMO is better. Here's why. A quick cast... If you read that your enemy is casting aoe damage, you'll have a chance to defend your whole group for most of the damage in seconds... Not only does it allow you to cast with out interruption, it also allows others to cast... It doesn't require mass amounts of energy and lasts half the time it takes to recast... It has saved not only me, but multiple people in hairy situations. It gives you an extra second to cast one heal which sometimes determines the outcome of battles. I have mine at level 22. It's shielding for around 350... My point of view... It won't help kill, it won't help heal. But it is very useful and can save idols and pots very regularly.

Yes Davies, this is the point of the spell ,but its value for skill investment needs tweaking. At higher levels mobs hit hard enough that at skill levels between 8-15 it really only negates an one average attack.
OR, cut the cool down in half and see how that goes. Allow us to cast it more often. Another benefit Admin, of speeding the cool down to increase its utility is it forces us Druids to specialize a little more. We can only cast so many spells in a given round before others wear off.

What I see as a major issue is the ability to use this skill in boss battles. As stated by the gentleman above me, it can only defend against one or two hits. With an aoe attack or skill hit it usually just takes half the damage of the strike.
Combining this with the one minute recast time and this skill becomes unreliable in several situations. I think what druids would like to see is either a shorter cool down. Or the ability to defend against more damage overall.
If I could defend against all incoming damage for 10 seconds, I think a 60 second chill down is justified.
With the shield ability now, i think a 30-45 second recast time would make this a much more used skill across the druid spectrum.

But isn't that all you often need?
Many druids use NB and that really helps keep us all alive during dragon and dragon lord boss fights as we heal the tanks, except for the druids who are a little extra squishy. For almost all of us though, there is often one point in the fight where our health is a little low and a hit takes a bunch of us out. Sanctuary could likely help everyone to get a little extra time to get their health back up.

Lack of skill points make skills like this useless.
