HW and strike vs storm

I'll run an experiment but thought I'd get feedback. I want to preclude by saying I don't have issues with mana/energy.

Since I'm using winds, my spells are nearly never interrupted. I'm doing a fair amount of melee along with spell casting.

Wouldn't t make more sense to throw my 30 pts into storm rather than lightening for dmg purposes?

I advise Strike, with reasons listed below:
-Strike has a much faster cooldown, allowing for more consistent DPS
-Strike evades less, and an evasions aren't as horrific as an evaded Storm
-Strike costs a LOT less energy
-Strike is also pretty good for damaging enemies during bosses or group leveling. Storm isn't.. sometimes you don't want to walk up to the midst of the fighting
-It's easier to get skill points for Strike. Along with the +5 boost on DL gloves, there are Strike boosts from: Hrung Helms, Hrung Skulls, Aggy Braces, and Beastbone Gloves. Not to mention that lightning strike rings are much easier to come by.

Hopefully that helps :)

Agreed and also storm tends to hit only 500- ish more than strike, but you can cast maybe 3 strikes withing the cooldown on storm so strike is better dps

Strike for all the reason above
And...

Storm requires touching the mob/boss. This puts you into melee range and it also adds a delay of walking to the mob/boss. This is a pain when leveling in groups and bossing.
