Why would you want to spend 10 skill points on a skill that leaves you with less health and drains all your mana leaving you unable to cast anything else cause all your mana has been drained defending you from attacks your better off putting points into vit so Druids can heal you and spend those 10 skillpoints on something that will kill the mobs your fighting

Its mainly based on a survival tactic. Say your fighting a frostroot elder and getting your ass kicked. you have full mana cause the newer items leave that possible so you cast energy shield whn you start feeling uncomfortable and thus giving your health a chance to recharge and while your health gets drained your energy recharges giving you a chance to repeat the proccess. If your wondering how you would cast anything in a situation like that cast cloak of fire cause even energy shield cant stop loak from getting under it.

After some lvling im gunna restat as well see whats needed for some solo and group pvp

In away ES is very powerfull, it takes damage it self
Best way is to lv it to 15/15
300 points on it if you want

Useing ice well to get more energy is usefull
I only got 70 points on energy
Heric necklace
Almost full warden adds energy per item
Health is over 2500
Energy 1000
Than energy well
1400
ES wins in a solo at starspell or shemmer
Or some low boss in cata

Does ice magic effect energyshield?

Here's what the admin said a while back in another topic:

Hey the way the shield works currently is that at level 1 you lose 3 energy for every point of damage, once you get the shield up to level 10 you lose 1 energy per damage. The ice ability affects your chance to cast successfully, it doesn't affect the energy per damage rate.
