Hey guys, ive just been thinking about some cool new skills and have made one up myself! Its called dragons fire and its a fire mage skills....
So when you click on the icon skill, you make a fire portal in front of your character and a fire dragons head comes out. Now you may be wondering, what does it do? Well what it does is you hold down the auto attack button, and the dragon shoots fire out of its mouth dealing (lets say the skill is lvl 1) 10 damage per 0.50 secs for 10 secs, when its finished it has a 50% chance to light the enemy on fire dealing a extra 10 damage per second for 5 seconds. When you increase the lvl, not only will the skill damage increase by 5 (including the fire affect when its finished) but the time will increase by 1. You have 2 seconds to hold down the auto button when clicked on the skill icon, otherwise the skill will be cancelled, you can also cancel it by realeasing the auto button when in use. The recharge time of the skill will be not very long but no very quick, so average (reasons why, DAMAGE IT TAKES) The cool idea i had about this was, say your dueling and you use it and the player runs away, well when they do, the fire can reach up to them no matter how fair away they get. To make it fair though, while in use, your character cannot move until the skill is ethier cancelled or used. The skill can only hit one enemy at a time and if they die while the skill is still in use, it will cancel and recharge. The affect that has a 50% chance to light them up however can spread and hurt all the players around them.
And that's pritty much it guys! Please feel free to comment on your opinion but in mine, i really think this is a creative skill that is really cool and involves the auto button!
Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#210 damage per 0,50 secs.. you mean 20 a sec?
fire portal with dragon head looks huge.
"can spread and hurt all players around them" this is not arena...
too complicated imo, I didn't even understand all starting from the 50% proc something, and "hold the auto attack button" sounds confusing too

Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#3I agree with shy, it is too complicated, but personally, I do like the main idea of the skill itself. It could be a rare drop from wherever, and the skill would be a fire skill(obviously). It could take damage away per tick, starting at 50, and each skill point adds around 25 more damage per tick. A good duration would be 20 seconds too.
Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#4I know it sounds complicated but its also hard to explain..... I tried my best explaining this skill in the most simplest of ways. But it is actually sorta simple once you know what it does.
Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#5Kinda like incinerate...
Dragon Fire- burst flames from your mouth, doing high damage and high DoT for 15 seconds (like rupture)

Booty is the most important thing.
Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#6Yeah that's sorta the thing im going for here, it is pritty much incinerate with the extra DOT, but im making more use of the auto attack button with the attack.

The effect with the dragon head was just a idea, I just had it in mind when i thought of this skill.... But it could be simplified, for example, insted of a dragons head shooting fire, maybe just dragon fire can come outta you characters hand.
The DOT is just something extra, im not saying the actual attack kills all the enemies around your target, just saying the extra affect, which has a 50/50 to activate, will affect the players around your target. So your saying you don't understand it? Well its basically has a 50% chance to activate a DOT (damage over time) after the skill had been used. If you don't understand the auto button, hear me out..... You use the skill right? Then you hold down the auto button to fire the dragon fire and can do this for 10 secs. If you don't hold it down when the skill is activated, the skill effect will cancel ethier after you character moves or after 2 seconds (so you have to hold it down quickly)
Yes, that means at lvl 1 if it hits 10 per 0.50secs, it will hit 20 damage (if you add them up) all together.

#7Like i said before guys, its looks and sounds complicated, but its actually not if you understand it. If it was in the game you would know what im tryin to say here..... But its just a idea so..... ENJOY
Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#8Personally, this is not a skill that I would like to see introduced for mages, though I do respect the amount of thought you have put into the idea and the fact that you have tried to come up with something a bit different.
Some may argue that a mage already has more damage skills than they have points to utilise, and certainly we already have ample fire and damage-over-time abilities in our arsenal, so any argument to further expand upon this repertoire needs to be truly unique in terms of the current class set.
If the proposition had offered poison damage with the delivery mechanism being a small shadow spirit / projectile which is released by the mage (perhaps alluding to a future necromantic path for the class) then I think it may have presented a slightly stronger case for inclusion in the skills roster.
The two truly distinct aspects of the original proposal (that being its graphical representation and utilisation of the auto button), I also am uncomfortable with.
I think the combat system already strikes the perfect balance in its simplicity, so I would not like the auto attack function and skills amalgamated in any respect. Buffs affecting auto's are fine, but a button bashing aspect to skills would not be a good inclusion to my mind.
Lastly, and to address the proposed graphical representation of the skill, whilst it is certainly an original concept for this particular game (and thus should be applauded), I should be surprised if its actual implementation did not render the effect as ill fitting and out-of-place, either from being overly gaudy and grandiose or at the other end of the spectrum a bit cheesy / cartoony.
This is purely my personal opinion and absolutely no disrespect is intended. As I said, I commend the intention, it is simply something I would not like to see in the game. Every skill a class is given, is counted against them when genuine improvements are needed (such as survivability in a mage's case) and it is for this reason alone I have taken to comment, and not to simply voice objection for objection's sake.

Re: New idea Skill: Dragons Fire
#9very complicated, also im not in favour for more mages dmg skills, i would like to see a skill that would help mages solo or just survive doesnt matter what for in a much better way, i myself dont like e shield, also for me e shield is like extra health, in other words just dmg protection, but it doesnt worth it imo without normal amount of armour
