I am a lvl 80 fire mage. I have a masters grimoire and was wondering what type of ammy (or other gear) I should get next.

At you're level the 100 focus Yule ammy is probably the best option. Otherwise, getting the talisman of the earth for regen is second best option.

Yule ammy sounds like an event item, so I need to find a player who sells? How much does it cost usually?
How about the earth tali - is that sold by a merchant?

Yule ammy was an old event item. It gives 50 energy regen, 100 focus, and a 500 energy shield skill. It used to cost 1 million gold in shop but may go 600-800k depending on your server.
Level requirement is 100 for it

Earth Talisman is in the 100 Lux vendor in carrowmore. It costs 375k in shop and goes 275-325k depending on your server

Obviously the yule ammy is better but can cost a lot.

Whats ur budget? When budget is low u can get even cheapr~free ammies like kron's.

I have 20 more levels to go before lvl 100, so I might be able to save enough for earth tali. I already have Kron's lvl 90 set - waiting to hit lvl 90

I retract my recommendation for earth talisman.

Heroic ammy is a lot more cheaper and worth while getting due to the armour gain. Grab a heroic until you hit 150.

That. The heroic ammy is cheaper, adds some armour (critical to mages) and nearly the same rejuv.

heroic ammy til lvl 100, then switch to a yule focus ammy or a sunshard ammy. the sunshard ammy is actually pretty good, adding 50 to both focus and vitality. it has dex too which is somewhat helpful. i have the fire dmg sunshard pendant, but for a mage the armor version would be better.

Instead of blowing a mill on sunshard ammy, they can invest in the focus of the seer + focus helmet from lvl 100 shop.
