We have a watchman to Combat situation here (swtor reference, dmg that increases over time to a certain point or burst dmg. ice would be best for bossing or high hp mobs, fire would be for low hp mobs or duels.

I think its the other way around, fire is better for bossing and high hp mobs while ice nukes low hp and duels.

Here is the answer. Ice can do more damage in a short period of time, fire can do more damage in a long period of time. Therefore ice is best for dueling.

Pvp I tend to see fire win but a couple nice ice blasts and fire cant match it. Preference really.

Wow it just feels so confusing , i have a lvl 72 warrior , and when i was lvling i saw a mage kill like 6 mobs 10'lvls higher than him with one hit , so i decided to create a mage , i didint rly know about the choosing an element thing so i randomly upgraded skills , ice shards was op and ice blast wasent so op , but faster cooldown , i upgraded alot , and bought new skills , to the point i had firestorm ,lure of fire , ice attunement ,energy shield ,energy boost & bandage wounds , everyone tells me to go one way , either fire or ice , i dont rly know what to choose , and i dont have any money to buy other skills , i can buy an alt book ,and choose one , maby i should go with fire since i got rare firestorm , but ice shards are op , and i might need fire attune instead of ice attune ... IDK IM RLY CONFUSED , The server im on is tarahorn ,username , Merlin skylion , lvl 41 rn and i rly need help from someone

Opinions vary but you asked for advice. I would go with fire mage. Put points into firestorm, fire bolt, e-shield and (for the moment) lure of fire. Try and buy fire attunement as it will also be maxed. That will give you a fast dmg mage. Don't try and go hybrid as it never really works and the fire and ice attune cancel each other out so you can't have both active at same time. Just enjoy playing the mage and look out for the fire attune manual. Agree that mages are good fun. I have high lvl warrior and rogue but enjoy my mage most. Good luck
