@Fury, I never meant instead of one of the main skills on a typical mage skillset (I even said it in the first page), but both skills have great uses, cloak as support (for tank mostly) and inc is a strong extra bonus to fight, considering it can hit up to quite high dmg per tick.

For support it would be better to firebolt the boss then to use cloak, and for incinerate the reason its not often used is because its dot, wasting 20 seconds to do its full damage which is weaker then a good firebolt. I would even go hybrid before i used incinerate, the only place where that little damage may matter is a end game boss which theres almost always several mages, and there'll most likely be a ice mage(if not you can just ask a support mage to help), so you could use ice shards if you are fire and it would do more damage(example: you can cast a 10k ice shard 2 times in 20 seconds, even if your incinerate did 10k it would be twice as weak). One more drawback to incinerate is that it doesn't stack with other ones so if 2 people use it at a boss fight the lower lv one will not work.

Change those to ice blast and shard(or if you solo stuff alot use ice shard and lure) Itll help you more

You use cloak and incinerate as main skills? I never really use incinerate because of all comments in thread. Have only started using cloak because a few rings gave me +15 or so. Maxed out on attune, bolt, storm, e-shield and half on lure. Wouldn't want to swap out those for incinerate or cloak. Thoughts? Tx

^He said 7 skills, that would be firebolt, fireattune, firestorm, firelure, cloak, inc and another skill, my guess another lure (assassins?) or energy shield.

I have some pretty op jewelry, rings etc and I can't max 7 skills. Always happy to learn from others. Would like to know how to max other skills up to 7, although I think I would just max my fire lure and maybe freeze

I would estimate hes gear swapping as most casters do, I even do that on my lvl 116 mage. Since mage needs to have his skills high and plenty of them so swapping mostly rings is very helpful.

Knowing what end-game gear I would use on my mage (not talking about top tiers, godly and voids) I believe I could max 6 skills but ah.... I max 5 at lvl 116 for now.

Yes, I use cloak on tanks or friends while they're leveling, and incinerate is a good skill since it is a one-time cast for a good duration which is required since my hrung bolt skull doesn't give me time to spam other spells.

I have 4.5k health and never really find myself needing shield, so it's kind of useless to me. Almost always have a tank on hand to take care of things.
