I am planning on making a mage, i already decided on doing ice build as i have my skills for it. Instead of upping e shield, would it be a good idea to put the extra points into firebolt for extra dps? Ive seen fire mages do this with ice shards but im just wondering if this is a good idea. Or should i use e shield.

Problem with using fire bolt, you won't be able to use fire attune and ice attune together, and unless you want it resisted heavily youll need fire lure too, which will hinder dps a little because you have to cast 2 lures instead of 1. Heres my suggestions, e boost(if you want to save gold on energy lixs/sigils), or e shield(to save gold on health lixs/sigils)

Get assassins lure instead and group level.
