Why is wand damage based on Strength? That does not make any sense at all.

Would it be too much to ask if the wand actually be based on focus. I was going to make a petition but wanted to get the discussion over with ahead of time.

For that matter Druids have two choices totum and staff. One could be made focus based the other STR based so they could choose.

Wands at the very least should be based on focus due to dealing spell damage. As for druids, maybe the staves could be altered to deal spell damage as well and then also be based on focus. That would also give druids more reason to chose between staff or totem.

I think this is a game engine or mechanic issue. Because we talked a lot, like A LOT in beta about how it doesn't make sense for STR to affect Ranger's bow's DMG because once you pull back a bow it does exactly the same amount of torque every bow shot. STR could only perhaps increase your bow speed, not the bow DMG.

But the answer given to us was that was the hardline code of the game. I don't think it makes ANY sense, but I do think it may be the set of circumstances we are stuck with until better Mage weapons that perhaps add a fraction of focus to DMG are coded into the mix.

What I'm saying is I think that STR will always play a role until better coded weapons are released to work on extra stats.

Well they could do str and focus. its not like any mage or druid is running around with a lot of STR.

Hi there, strength does not effect fire/cold/magic damage.

Since wands are mainly magic they are not affected by strength.

Ok so why are they not based on focus? Every class has a chance to do some auto damage except Mage. ( Druid could use a buff there as well)
