Re: Difference Between 300 focus and 1k (1000) focus

is firestorm now stronger than firebolt (I was told it is)?
Yes for dmg, no for dps. Slower cooldown than ice shards.
I reset my skills not too long after I asked that question but thanks for your reply

It shows that I can over 1k damage but I keep hitting around 400 :(
And yes, Im using lure of fire. I hit over 820 with firebolt sometimes so I know the lure is doing its job.

Ok I haven't reworked my research since the Mage buff but the damage was a function of the root of focus. So if you wanted to double the effect you get with 300 focus you would need to have four times the focus or 1200.

This would only double the focus portion, not the ability portion.

** Firestorm and lure of fire do not work together. An enemy fire resistance to firestorm is not reduced by the lure. its a mistake, so yes, you fire bolt will hit for more dmg (even though it says firestorm is supposed to)

So technically speaking the sweet spot is 300 foc?

Using firebolt as an example. You get the most bang for the buck up to 150 after 300 the curve is almost linear so you still get benefit but you have collected all the low hanging fruit. It may be better to put points into something else like dex so you can dodge more or vit so you dont have to rely on E shield and can use those points elsewhere.

Hmph, sounds like 300 foc to me.
