Hi, I know icemage is really short term burst damage but I don't think that should be so. It would be nice if the only real difference between icemage and firemage is simply the type of damage and not all this confusion with different casting times.

The build I have for boss kills is full focus and we've gotten organized enough that I really don't die anymore so... I have full dl (including the weapon and offhand), two icemage bracelets of focus, a royal ice attune, grand ice attune, royal Iceblast, and grand dragon energy boost. I really don't know how much better you can get with a dps icemage...

I have even done my own comparison, you can get 3 firebolts per one ice shard and each firebolt is able to hit around 3k-4k while ice shards hits 4k-8k. This just seems all wrong...

Firebolts can hit a lot harder bud, mine hits around 5100 with only 40 attune. Fire is better dps hands down right now for any fight over 30 seconds.

Also Doc, just pony up the gold and buy tons of sigils. Being able to dump energy boost for frostbite might be the difference in scoring kills. Yes, frostbite is rather poor dps now but it is additional damage you wouldn't have with using energy boost.

That firebolt... is amazing. Lol I've used the icemage buid and switched eboost with firebolt before with more sucess with getting the kill and using heroic energy lixes to sustain myself. I understand that using sigils would get a lot more kills but is that seriously fair for what a mage has to do to get kills? Using sigils instead of eboost should be godly dps and using eboost should be able to compete at the very least.

Even with that rant, I already realized a mistake I made. Posting in the class forums, where admin and wulver never look... Thanks for indulging me guys but it's getting time to just leave this game behind and find something else more fun. Only thing keeping me going is helping my clan but even that doesn't seem apparent if I'm not able to compete with rangers and druids.

Since when is there an aggy bracelet for ice blast?

She means 50/40 shards, 49/40 blast I'm sure. I loaned her the shards bracer.

I agree with you, I love fire mage and I am never going back to ice mage. Ice shards is perfectly fine, frost has a weak initial hit and blast has too many problems for me to count.

oops - yes I had ice shards and ice blast around the wrong way. that is correct there is no aggy brace for blast.

80% of my lvling is done with a warrior and each mob battle is say about 8-15 seconds max which is why ice mage is best for me.

Darteos on the other hand cannot lvl in groups because the exp at lvl 190 would be so low, and also because .. well not to many ppl that level to lvl with really, so therefore fire build would be more suited.

the very high wryms also seem to have a higher evade?????? (pls correct me if im wrong) and evade is bad news for ice mage because of the longer cooldown.

Are you lvling with rangers from Badabing? Cos those rangers are the best equipped rangers u could ever get. And they know it.

Plus ur a Celt doc, so you're only ever allowed to be mediochre at best. Get used to it!
