Strange , ur tanks must suck cuz when i do the firestorm , often 1 add come to me but rarely more.
Then i use the necklace shield and i try to nuke the add.
At 180: adds come to me almost never
At 170: i shield and run out of aggro zone if i m in deepshit
At 165: we kill it very very fast lol, and as always i use shields
At 160: really easy just 4 adds
155 : havnt done it since months lol
The 2 shields, its like 2k-2,5k vit so i m not really squishier than the other mages. The problem s when my shield s on cd and the boss does aura dmg, i dont ve a lot of chaos resist cuz i dont ve dl aura,boots and helm.
So i m more afraid of chaos dmg than adds lol

Regardless of adds coming to you, snorri and troll adds still do cast furious sweep, and we don't always have a tank present at fights.

But fair enough.

Armo you realize your talking to someone from epona. You kill it very fast because you have 3 clans at each fight, loom. Armo you have 1 clan they have more people use some intelligence armo ik ya have at least some.

And we ve a tank at every bossfight exept with the bolas start , and bolas strat means that i m away from the boss
And for furious sweep i just cast my second shield and nothing break

@SolidScorpion, do note he said "at higher levels". What level is your mage exactly?

Using the combined knowledge of all the 180+ mages in my clan, ice seems to be the winner of leveling, due to the amazing freeze/ice spells combo. Sure, fire mage might be a little quicker, but you'll be burning pots a lot more and dying frequently.

As for PvP, an ice mage demolishes fire mages. 'Nuff said.

My mage is currently 120, so probably that's low.

One fact remains which possibly makes fire stand out, evades. Mobs my lvl are evading like ***, so I would expect A LOT more evades in later lvls. Ice mages do extremely sweet dmg but if one of their skills get evaded that would be 20% more frustrating than fire mages.

Also, I have quite an amount of sigils which means I don't pot as much so that may have affected my decision.

For PvP, I'm fire mage and I defeat most mages (both ice and fire) below lvl 150, thanks to my decent fire/ice resistance, and even some lvl 160s if I get lucky with one evade, and you probably might know now, these lvl 160 mages are ice mages.

So yeah, I strongly recommend fire mages, but if some feel extremely lucky and that their skills won't get evaded as much, feel free to choose ice.
