Well done! Concrete evidence is always a relief to base decisions on. Although slightly disappointed by the skull’s performance, I guess I will be continuing to use the grim after all.. But it makes sense since it is only a 20% increase of only one skill, and reduced focus makes all the DPS less effective.
Ah well, skull will be sitting in bank then. :/

Awesome find, but i assume that between shadow skull and shadow grim the skull would be even stronger, yet the grim adds fire magic for accuarcy, which is great, and improves the lure, so overall its pretty great.

I guess if i were to be a 190 mage, i would choose void grim over void skull.

Being a level 190 mage, I would use the void skull. DPS differences aside, the 15 extra skill points is quite vital for me.

(Have like 3 points in e-shield at the moment, and I would love more :/)

Yeah Armo...you gotta do something about that e-shield. 50/40 shield is really great. An energy suck, but a life-saver.

Thats while not including everything, the gap isnt extremely high, it'll be slightly higher (maybe even more) as void vs void, but, Swan didnt include that with all the fire magic, u will land much more hits, and the foc+fire magic will improve the lure greatly, on this case Swan said thats not including any resistance or evasion, which is impossible in these lvls.

What? No. He compared a dark skull to a shadow grim. A void skull is better than a void grim. What's more, he did not account for the extra skill points that the skull gives allowing for extra dps.

Edit: forgot to mention that ice mages benefit more with % reduction in cast times due to their slow recast skills. Armo is a fire mage. A durk skull of firestorm would probably be better than a shadow grim, a dark skull for firebolt is not a very good comparison.

One day I will try to test skill evasions and lures/resistances. Maybe I can figure out how to calculate real DPS. It's going to be quite hard though…
