Re: Freeze

I just got freeze today and maxed it... My Mage is only level 45 so 15 points is max... And I thought it was terrible... I believe they should add damage that the freeze can take without breaking... In other words, 1 skill point= 100 damage to stop it from breaking right away. Or only a fire spell or physical attack will break freeze...

I also like the idea of adding damage to it. Like rend.

I didn't play a mage in beta but I remember mentioning (before beta started I think) that freeze should add some dot. I can't tell you how that would work out in PvP... but it would at least make it a more usable skill.
I always thought it should give some damage upon breaking.

Damage over time would be perfect (but be less than incinerate) but the thought was that it would be hard for it to deal damage over time without making it break itself.

Mabye make it so only physical and fire attacks break it. Mabye make lightning do extra damage when frozen! Then mabye some druids would dust off thier lightning spell and actually use it again.

Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

I think the best way to go is... Seeing as it's ICE it would hurt the mob because nothing is fully immune to ice and you could make it last like a minute or until a fire or physical attack hit it... Lightning and Ice wouldn't affect it because ice is water and water is conductive so it would electricute the mob if attacked by lightning and then after the minute ends or is broken wouldent it make sense If it had a type of Bolos effect for another minute? The mob increasingly getting back up to full speed like it was warming up after being incased with ice? And this bolo effect could also affect their attack speed seeing as it was there whole body covered in ice and not just there legs like bolo? And for the points I say it should go up like 5 levels first time then 10 levels next point then 5 then 10 and so on so you would be able to freeze the max level and not have to waste all ur points

Nice ideas, worth looking in to.
