I love that the community continues to think up new ways to build a Mage! I like this idea. Too bad I've already dove into the rabbit hole and bought about 350 sigils. Anybody see a way to incorporate some of this build into an energy heavy toon? I can't see abandoning my sigils. Too much money invested into them.
yes, i have 400 energy sigils. Just only have 20 pts in focus, wear a diamond shirt, and let your sigils replenish all your energy in a few ticks. It actually works well.

Now time to buy some health sigils lol. I'm using bandage and recup right now :(.
Nerfed Mage ~140
Why play a class where skills cost more than other classes for same damage?
Why play a class with no auto attack?
Why play a class with 1/3 the armor?
Why play a caster?

This is actuall not far from my current build. I am saving for an ice trident before more experimenting. It is basically a one man fire cloaked tank with no armor.
Nice.

Lol thats what i am too right now. I'm opting for the golden blade of fire to take advantage of my fire lure I think.

Hmm comparing this to a no str warrior doing the same thing...

warrior more armor. Needs any mage with fire lure and firecloak to acieve same effect. Also needs at least a ranger with light heal to achieve same effect.

mage less armor. Needs any druid with natures touch to achieve same effect.

So it seems the mage is a bit better and easier doing this build for leveling, while the warrior might be better with this build for bosses. Also the mage will be able to buff the DPS of the group while the warrior could buff the armor of the group.

I have a build just like that only its:
I'm lvl 147 mage btw

You're frozen weapon does 55 magic damage along with a magic helm and magic blade bringing total magic damage to 305. I hate mix matching damage types do I stick to magic.

I think it is the damage adding armor that makes these builds rock. They have no speed so are conditioned by the weapon...

My little dps Druid melees with this type of set up for more than his maxed lightning bolt.... When you add his self buffs and maxed Touch to this it is kind of amazing. I find he is. Ore of an energy hog than any Mage I have run though, if you can beleive that.

Also I am a real tank for bossfights, and I have so much health it takes multiple druids to keep up.

And who doesn't need more tanks for bossfights? :)
I am pretty sure that you need mor druids because you take more damage than the druids can heal. Thats due to a lack of armor (mages have low armor, duh) and/or lack of heal strength (low leveled/ improperly set up druid). So eve though it's quite defensive for a mage, it's still not a full tank build. Don't count on tanking anything too high but don't be disapointed as your set up to do damage and support as well.

P.S. This has been mentioned for rangers with rapid shot (and knuckle blades) in a thread I started, so it's not completely original. Not hating :)

I count the magic damage of the wand as a loss because I need lure of fire already for cloak. I don't want to trade maxing another lure for maximizing 55 damage.
