Re: What does a mage need?

Well what i experienced the hours i spent leveling with a rogue and druid (176/173)
The rogue could tank 2 wyrms easily with 3k hp and he needed few heals..he took the damage of 2 mobs and survived but still did a great job in dps hitting 900s auto with just ancientBB gear. Just to compare, my mage ( roughly 2,6k hp ) would die before taking one wyrm down..

A mage would have more health then a pure dps rouge. Also many mages out there take a while to buff, which allows me to put more buffs, and some mages have energy shield. Sure, a mage has less armor, but more health. Making it easier to heal them. Do any of you replying to my post play druids? Rouges honestly are the honestly the hardest to heal (for me) because they constantly normally have low health and armor then warriors, mages have more health and are easier to buff, and rangers can bolas, requiring little to no heal.
Strength for rogues, is like focus for mages. Mages take away focus (dps) to get more hp to survive. If rogues are so hard to heal, why don't they get rid of some strength (dps) to get more hp? Your argument is invalid. When I level at trolls with a group, I get hit 1k+, whereas everyone else gets hit 600 maximum except for druids. It's a little ridiculous, and is the reason I have 3.5k hp as a mage...

Something you may have already thought of (and mage armor issues still stand. This in no way solves the problem.) Is to get some of the physical resist helms from
The event bears. They help a lot. (But now that I think about it you have full DL dont you? So this would break the set bonus.)

Unfortunately, only one clan in Crom dominates 95% of dragonlord bosses and are the only clan with full dragonlord sets. (Think they have 10 or so full sets and 10-20 with bp missing).

I'm not in that clan, so I'm stuck with only dragonlord gloves, and almost skirt. I might actually look into purchasing a crush resist bear helm, thanks for the advice.

I have a 350 slash resist helm and a 300 pierce resist. They help a lot. My problem is figuring out what type of damage a mob is. But trolls are easy.

Mobs also tend to have different weapons in a bunch. (Spears, swords, clubs, ect)

But trolls seem to hit hardest, and even with tank you get hit (furious sweep), so crush resist probably the best investment for me.

as an ice mage,

2) decrease mobs their spell evasion,so i dont miss 3 out of 5 skills..
PLEASE.

I only have 2 attacks and if im in a duel and they evade one of my attacks im DEAD because I have CRAP armor(my armor itself is fine im talking armor points) and CRAP health. and if i took out points in energy and put them in health I'd be able to cast like 5 spells and be out of energy... You're doing something wrong there..bs^^

And please reduce the damage of crushing blow from deepfire trolls, warriors getting hit up to 5k too (like my mage but warrior got 6 times my armor).

It is not bs. I have gone through the same thing and I was going to rage quit if not for the persuasion of my clan to go firemage.

Turco, my suggestion is to give up on icemage and go firemage. If you see one of my earlier posts, I compared the highest hits from both types. Fire wins by a long shot in dps and the shorter cooldowns make soloing and evades less frusterating.

No matter what though, mages need some serious attention or we will go extinct and unlike druids, we won't be missed. :(
