theres never a best build, will prob work differently to each one cuz of gear or maybe stats (if u dont use the exact stats)
try it and u might like it, melee mages are pretty great imo if they can get good melee
i guess that the dex is mostly for dodges, but i think that with melee based wep like dl wand, those 195 pts would work better in str, but thats just my opinion, a mage in my clan had 1453 dmg without much dmg gear (had pts in all stats, like 300 str, we told him to take out the pts in dex tho and put them in focus)

Bad idea , u make a build where u use auto ( bad idea imo since u dont add strenght ) and u wont have tome to autonwith a firebuild , i advice ice build with auto , but imo inci firebolt and storm and no auto s the best way to train

I can assume this is a good build because theoritically, it seems to work. 200 dex is a little too much in my POV, but the rest fits. I would suggest using anc shoes for extra firestorm damage. This build will probably not work as good if you are using knowledges, or else lots of pots will be used.

For people sayin ice shards, it's not that good. In order for it to be efficient you would need ice lure which takes points, which are valuable.

You'd get 150 strength from the offhand axe. You could opt to add more strength, not sure how much damage you'd lose from skills though.

dex is never good for a mage.

It helps dodging etc for this build

putting points in dex takes away from your health and spell damage, both of which you will need. pure caster, i was a hand to hand mage around lvl 80 and its not a significant amount of damage. with the dl weapon and axe damage with crush lure damage will be much more than punching with an offhand but still will take too long for leveling. you should aim to kill enemies faster, hence pure caster.
