OK. I am tired of this bull crap. Dev team, why do you take one good thing in the game you made and screw it up? Maybe you should look at this situation differently. Mages were not overpowered by any means. They were the only class that was able to actually train on things their level without full LUXURY(not necessity) equipment. The way you are destroying every other class is what makes mages look OP. First, you completely ruin rangers for all they are worth so I decided to quit my Ranger and use my Mage. Mage was the only bearable class you could play without buying tons of platinum and/or luxury items. But now, now you have reached a new low. Instead of focusing your attention on fixing other classes to create some sort of communistic "equality" that everyone so desires, you go and mess up mages and throw them in the same poo hole with all your other classes. Maybe just maybe you should fix all the other classes and make them equal to the bearability that mages once were and not just screw over everyone that plays this game. This is intolerable, and I am ashamed I ever funded this game. As for now, until you make this game playable without the having to buy "luxury" items, I see no reason I should waste time or money here. Please, take a look at your game and ask yourself if this is something you would even enjoy paying. Yes, maybe you can even create an account and play without using platinum or giving yourself items and see how dang near impossible it is to do anything without scamming or platting.
This is not a direct insult at OTM. I just want them to understand the frustration I am facing. If you ban me because I spoke up for a game that I invested in and care about, so be it.
I agree. As a newer player, it seems to me that this update had a large focus on making $ instead of making an enjoyable and balanced game for the players. Dance with the girl who brung ya guys.

Dude, gtho noob. There isn't a large focus on money, but on people not wanting to take a while, not wanting to get a full experience of the game and not wanting to have fun. Game was very fun before but people just focus on power and money pretty much. And btw it ain't gonna be balanced when people WANT to spend THOUSANDS on this game a year.

To be frank, I am always under the impression area of effect skills are meant to be lesser powerful than a single target skill. So I was a bit puzzled why aoe skills like fire storm and ice blast were more dmg than fire bolts or ice shards.

That being said, I do fully agree 45% seems over the top and a better approach would have been OTM boosting the other classes instead of mage major made over. It would have been more fun this way.

Brookie, while you may or may not be right on new mobs evading auto attack more frequently than update.
Rogues do have smoke defense and are meant to use this skill as it complements their auto attack advantage. Same as Mages meant to use lures as it boost their skill attacks.
MorphMarfa has retired from Celtic Heroes and most probably wont be resurfacing. He had a enjoyable time during his druid adventures in Taranis.

Your correct but have a look at these stats for you i have 5000 attack and miss half the time. By using the hit % chance formula that means the mob has 5000 defence. Now my smoke bomb gives me around 700 -defence i believe so my hit % chance was 50 and now is 5000/9300= 53.7 so now i hit almost 4%(8% more dps)more while mages lures increase my damage by around 5*+ which increase my damage by 500% on bosses. Now which is better please do tell me? Also we had smoke bomb up on all of bosses which i tested against a mage. They needed to buff all classes and iceblast did need a nerf. As it was aoe buy not so much maybe 25%. Then all othe classes needed a boost end of.

This is a low blow to merge all topics together, Yes I realize that the amount was getting insane but now the organization is horrible. I took a good 3-4 hours getting all the math done an all the typing done just to have it thrown into an endless 234 page topic? Now i dont even want to bother to find any comments regarding my MAGE MATH post because a reply will be lost in the paperwork mess on this internet desk. In all honesty, next time just post for us that we are goin to waste time if we comment so we dont get all our work tossed into a pile.

The mage class needed an adjustment but I don't think the way things were implemented yesterday was the best approach. I think two concepts are being easily confused all around: Burst damage vs. Damage per second (DPS). The mage class should have the hardest hitting single target damage skill out of any class in the entire game. That is how the class traditionally plays out. They however should NOT have as high of damage per second as a rogue or a ranger. In general, AOE skills should be less damaging than single target skills because additional targets are receiving damage. To better balance mages I would have slightly decreased ice blast damage (new AOE skill). With my ice shards at one and ice blast at one, my AOE was hitting harder which I didn't think was right. I would not however have decreased the damage of the single target skill ice shards. Ice shards should be a heavy hitter and damage should have remained the same. A better way to manage the DPS of this skill would have been to increase the cooldown, that way the skill still provides the burst damage that it should without having as aggressive DPS as a rogue. As for energy shield I always felt that it needed adjustment for PvP, however I thought it was fine in PvE especially if other skills were to be adjusted. If the DPS of other skills was decreased so that one can't fire off as many skills while the shield is up, theoretically that should be enough to slow mages down since the shield would ultimately break due to slower DPS. That's just my theory. There is no one way to handle this so that everyone would be happy but a more thought out approach would have been a better benefit to everyone. I know we would all prefer our classes to be buffed to be on par with mage rather than see a harsh nerf, but this is a money driven game. There is no way the devs want everyone leveling with greater ease because that would result in this update dating itself quicker and less money spent over time on plat, lix, potions, etc.

I don't think the devs quite recall all of the mage rage that occurred this time a year ago when there was an ongoing revolt on the forums about how weak they were between update two and the beginning of update three (pre buff). It seems as though quite the regression was implemented yesterday sans the slow casting firebolt they used to have a year ago.

I'm sensing the nerf wasn't tested prior to implementation, which means any time spent in beta was thrown out the window. That is a bit unsettling regardless of what class you play. Before you kick dust in the face of a mage and dance on their grave, just remember that this could just as easily happen to your class at the drop of a hat. Deep cutting changes on this level really hurt everyone regardless of what class you play. We all invest time and effort into our toons and I think it is important to provide ongoing constructive criticism as a community to better drive the evolution of this game.

It's nothing more than a fleecing exercise now mages have to pot to level pot to boss and pot to group level
Add to this that mages and druids r biggest spenders on toons and they nerfed sigals aswell
Niether class is willing to spend any money on toons till all issues r resolved otm r just turning into money grabbing gits
And customers r not spending any money like they would have expected with new update because of otm mistakes fix the probs and people will spend *** em over and they won't

Mages should take the kill on anything under 5 minutes. They should not have the ability to do massive damage over time. Anything over 5 min should be a rogues kill

Quick example of how these changes were far too harsh. Prior to the nerfs yesterday I used to be able to clear out 4* Deepscale, Spider, Priest and King placeholders by using 2 50/35 eshields and 2-3 pots. Now I can barely get them to half hp without dying and thats if nothing is deflected.

Before anyone says that 4*s should not be soloable, I am over 25 levels above Deepscale, 20 above Spider, 15 above priest and 10 above King. In addition, all other classes in my clan are able to solo these.

Rogue pots once or twice
Ranger bolas for an easy kill
Warriors kill with 0 or 1 pot

There is a serious problem with our armor being so low with the recent shield nerfs.
