Re: What happened to Mages? [RANT]

My Mage is probably my favorite class except for my dps Druid toy.... And his regen problems FAR outweigh my Mages AND there is nothing he can do about that. The game is not broken. Mages are not broken and just got a significant, timely upgrade, the response to which has been a kind of mob mentality complaint claiming to represent all people who play mages. I would kill for that level of upgrade on the other classes.

All classes are forced to make choices. This mob mentality seems to ignore that. My Mage has sigils, yes. He has a regen ammy and bracelet, yes. I never use my wand, because it is useless. All classes have this. All. Just doesn't happen to be the weapon.

I would like to see other players energy bars. Currently battery/regen mages are just guess work and so really boring to play. No real idea if you are doing any good. The only feedback loop is negative? If there were a positive feedback loop they would be much more interesting and useful. This would be useful for the entire group and interesting in pvp as well.

3 things wrong with mage
Energy problem
Not enough skill points
Elements aren't for mages/druids
So almost all lir dragon loot isn't for us just the energy adding one
Them agg loot we just get few rings more energy problem and book
Why mages left out on element damages not to mention this will only get huger problem when even more eliments damages come into game
16 boxer!! All Seeing One
Owner of 6 camos,2 broom of dooms,white carpet , 2011 HP pendant
First to take Necro down!!!

I with you on a positive feedback loop. It could help us craft our Mage with everything inherent, good and bad, with our class. I can't speak to the PvP aspect as I find no satisfaction I something purely for bragging rights. If cash and/or prizes were introduced I would probably change my tune on that. :D

I can't add anything positive to a Mage build myself as the only playable build I have found costs money, lots and lots of money.

I would like to hear positive aspects to the "normal" Mage build thinking.

Mdimarco has ruined me to that idea.

Mages are broken because they can't keep working at full strength for long, and then just stand there. Heck, the only thing this update changed for me was that i spent a bigger proportion of my playtime waiting for energy.
No other class (mind you, no melee class) has to face that because, even though they may run out of energy after a while, they still have their auto-attacks.
I, among the others in this thread, aren't angry because we can't solo bosses. Or even solo level with hands tied behind out back in OW. It's because even in group we're a dead weight, either because after three or four mobs we have to regen, or because we casted lures that are useless outside of boss fights. Druids get it better because they can cast their buffs every two mins. Mages have to recast them on every mob.
What's wrong making us go support, it's making us have to go support because that's what other players want. I say, i'll go full support if you give up all your damage gear too, then try playing like that.

No offense, since you're most of the time giving constructive feedback, but that's something i don't know you still see. Or at least it doesn't show. But, heh, whatever. This is all opinion anyway. We'll always have players finding other classes OP and their own too weak.
That's why there were so many rogues posts a while ago.
